Guess what? Heidi Klum’s eldest daughter, Leni Klum, has officially stepped into the spotlight! She just made her modeling debut for Vogue, and her mom couldn’t be prouder. Leni, who’s only 16, graced the cover of Vogue Germany’s January 2021 issue, marking a major milestone in her young life. Heidi shared her excitement, saying this moment allows Leni to “show the world who she truly is.”
Heidi's Heartfelt Message to Her Daughter
Heidi, 47, took a moment to pen down her feelings, sharing them alongside a stunning photo of her and Leni on the cover. “I’m so proud of you,” she wrote, emphasizing that her pride isn’t just because Leni chose modeling. Instead, it’s about the fact that Leni is carving her own path. “No matter which way you go, it will be your own,” Heidi added. This announcement came just in time for the official reveal from Vogue Germany on December 10.

After the big announcement, Heidi hit social media with a breathtaking snapshot of the cover. She also shared a deeply touching tribute to Leni, this time in German. “You always know exactly what you want and what you don’t want. You are not a mini-me,” Heidi expressed. “And I’m so happy for you that you can now show who YOU truly are.”

Leni's Journey Through Life's Challenges
Heidi elaborated on Leni’s journey, pointing out how her daughter has always managed to make “the best out of every situation.” She acknowledged the complexities of Leni’s upbringing. “Being my daughter isn’t always easy. You’ve never had the chance to grow up ‘normally.’ But what is normal, really?” Heidi questioned, reflecting on the unconventional life her children have led.
Heidi, known from Project Runway, highlighted how Leni navigated growing up with “three different daddies.” She mentioned ex-partner Flavio Briatore, the father of Leni, and ex-husband Seal, who helped raise Leni alongside her younger siblings—Henry, 15, Johan, 14, and Lou, 11. Additionally, Leni has her stepfather, Tom Kaulitz, who entered their lives when Heidi married the German musician in 2018.
Despite the challenges, Heidi believes Leni has emerged as “a self-confident young woman who fights for her goals.” Moreover, she praised Leni for being “a really great person with your heart in the right place.” It’s clear that Heidi sees Leni not just as a model but as a compassionate and driven individual.

Advice for Leni's Future
As Leni ventures into her own career, Heidi hopes her daughter will “always carry” the advice she’s given her over the past 16 years. “For the big decisions in life, but also for the very little ones,” she advised. Even if Leni doesn’t always want to hear her mom’s “clever advice,” Heidi emphasized one crucial point: “Never do something you don’t want to do, and always listen to your gut instinct.”
Heidi concluded her heartfelt message by reminding Leni that “Vogue is the best way to start the career” of her dreams. Although it’s “a little difficult” for Heidi to let Leni step into this world, she’s determined to support Leni’s dreams fully. “I am proud to be your mom!” Heidi gushed.
Leni has also been exploring her modeling career alongside Heidi on the set of Germany’s Next Top Model. Since Leni finds her mom’s work in Hollywood “interesting,” she’s been visiting the show’s set. Now that Leni is “old enough” to enter the industry, Heidi is thrilled about her daughter’s prospects. “Who knows, maybe in five years when I’m not hosting the show anymore, it might be called Germany’s Next Top Model by Leni Klum instead of Heidi Klum. Who knows,” the proud mom told People in early December. “She’s kind of playing with this idea.”
