Love It or List It Vancouver is more than just a house-flipping show. It’s a journey into the world of real estate with a twist of drama and personality. At the heart of it all is Todd Talbot, a real estate expert with a background in acting and theater. Todd isn’t just another real estate agent; he’s a star whose charm has captured the hearts of HGTV viewers. His on-screen chemistry with cohost Jillian Harris is undeniable, but what makes him truly special is his life off-screen. When the cameras stop rolling, Todd returns to his role as a loving husband to Rebecca Talbot and a proud father to their two children, Kesler and Ashlyn.
A Star is Born: Todd and Rebecca's Love Story
The story of Todd and Rebecca Talbot is one that feels like it’s straight out of a Hollywood movie. They met in 2002 while starring in a production of West Side Story at Vancouver’s Arts Club Theatre. Before that, Todd had already made waves in the acting world, working on the Canadian drama Fifteen alongside Ryan Reynolds from 1991 to 1993. But it was his love for theater that brought him to the stage where he met Rebecca. Their connection was immediate, and their love story blossomed from there. In 2007, the couple tied the knot, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.
Rebecca Talbot: An Actress in Her Own Right
Rebecca Talbot isn’t just Todd’s partner in life; she’s an accomplished actress in her own right. Her acting credits are impressive, including roles in The X-Files, The Collector, Millennium, and Married Life. Born and raised in Canada, Rebecca knew from a young age that she wanted to be an actress. In a candid post on her blog, she revealed the origins of her love for performing: “I started my performing career as the fourth of five children vying for attention by singing, dancing, pouting, or generally acting ridiculous and I’ve just kept that act up ever since.” Her journey from a young performer to a professional actress is nothing short of inspiring.

Growing a Family and Moving Forward
Family is at the heart of Todd and Rebecca’s life. In 2009, they welcomed their daughter, Ashlyn, and two years later, their son Kesler joined the family. As their children grew, the Talbots decided to make a significant change in their living situation. In 2017, they sold their Lions Bay home, where their kids had grown up, and purchased a smaller home in East Vancouver. Rebecca was thrilled about the new space, especially the opportunity to decorate it for Christmas. “This is our first Christmas in our little house and we’re very excited,” Todd told the Vancouver Sun in November 2019. “Rebecca has always wanted outdoor Christmas lights and this is the first year we’ve had them.”
A Partnership Built on Love and Laughter
Todd and Rebecca’s relationship is a testament to the power of partnership. They share their lives openly on social media, posting sweet moments that reflect their deep connection. Whether they’re cheering on their son Kesler at his hockey games or enjoying a peaceful day out on the lake with their family, the Talbots are a team. Rebecca often expresses her love for her husband through Instagram captions. In October 2021, she captioned a sweet selfie with Todd, “Life is easier together.” For Todd, spending time with his family is the highlight of his day. “We spend a lot more time together as a family, which is great,” he said. “A smaller space forces you to interact more, and I love that. The kids are only going to be small for such a short time, and I want to be part of it all.”
