For many, Lynda Carter is forever Wonder Woman—the iconic TV superhero who captured hearts worldwide. But outside the spotlight, she introduced herself as Lynda Carter Altman, a devoted wife and mother. "Here, I’m Robert’s wife," she would tell her husband's colleagues in Washington, D.C., where Robert Altman was a respected gaming CEO. Lynda always preferred to be known as his partner in life rather than a Hollywood star.
Now, Lynda finds herself navigating life without the man who was her rock. On February 3, Robert passed away following a surgical procedure. In an emotional tribute, the 69-year-old shared, "Robert is the love of my life, and he always will be. We were each other's protectors and champions through every twist and turn life threw our way." It’s a testament to a love that transcended fame and fortune.
A Love Story That Inspired

Lynda and Robert's journey began in 1984 when they tied the knot. At the time, Robert, a native of Washington, was a rising star in the legal world, while Lynda was transitioning into her post-Wonder Woman career. Together, they created a beautiful family, welcoming two children: James, now 33, and Jessica, 30. Their Georgian-style mansion in Potomac, Maryland, became the backdrop for countless cherished memories, built with love and hard work in 1987.

Facing Trials Together
Throughout their marriage, Lynda and Robert faced challenges that tested even the strongest of bonds. In the early 1990s, Lynda stood firmly by Robert's side as he went through a trial for banking fraud, ultimately being acquitted. This wasn't the only hurdle they faced. Robert, who reinvented himself as the chief executive of a multibillion-dollar video game company, was there for Lynda when she sought help for alcoholism in 1997. Together, they proved that true love can withstand anything.
Coming to Terms with Loss
The sudden nature of Robert’s passing has been particularly difficult for Lynda. "She kept his illness private," a close friend reveals, adding that Robert, 73, was battling cancer. "Lynda never imagined losing Robert this way. They had plans to grow old together, to continue sharing life's joys and challenges." In a heartfelt message, Lynda honored her husband, calling him "the most honorable person I have ever known." She expressed gratitude for the incredible years they shared, saying, "Thank you for giving me all the love in my life."
