Home Town host Erin Napier wowed the crowd at the 2022 CMAs on November 9, thanks in part to some fashion magic from her longtime style inspiration, Drew Barrymore. Erin, who sparkled in a stunning green Marchesa gown adorned with floral embellishments, was joined by her husband, Ben Napier, on the red carpet. It’s a moment she’ll never forget, and it was made possible by some unexpected help.

In an Instagram post shared the day after the event, Erin opened up about the whirlwind leading up to the big night. "When we found out we’d be presenting, I had just 12 days to find something to wear," the 37-year-old revealed. "Here’s the thing—I don’t know much about fashion. We’re not red carpet people. But I was lucky enough to meet Drew Barrymore last year when Ben and I were guests on her show. She’s been my style icon for years! I looked up to her growing up, so I took a chance and reached out to her. I asked her, ‘Where do I even begin to find a dress?’"

Marchesa Steps In to Save the Day

Erin initially found a dress that she adored, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available in her size. That’s when Drew Barrymore, who’s no stranger to being a helping hand, stepped in and asked her friends at Marchesa to find the perfect gown for Erin. And let me tell you, they delivered. "Because of Drew and my dear friend Meechka, I’ve never felt so lovely and fancy," Erin wrote. "It helped me feel like I belonged when I was so nervous. This post is really about mentors and the ways they walk beside us. I’m so grateful for them, and I hope I can be that kind of support for someone else one day."

A Lifelong Fan Finds Her Hero

This wasn’t the first time Erin has spoken about her admiration for Drew Barrymore. Back in December 2021, the HGTV star appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show with Ben and shared how much Drew inspired her life. "You were seriously my all-time favorite," Erin told the Charlie’s Angels actress. "In high school, I cut my hair off to look like you. … This is the grow-out from my Drew Barrymore cut freshman year of college." It’s safe to say Erin’s childhood dream came true when she met her idol.

Erin and Ben’s Journey to Stardom

Erin and Ben Napier met back in 2004 while attending Jones County Junior College in Mississippi. They tied the knot in 2008 and welcomed two daughters, Helen and Mae. Since 2016, they’ve been captivating audiences with their heartwarming love story and dedication to restoring homes in their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi. Along the way, they’ve formed friendships with some pretty big names, including Sheryl Crow, Chip and Joanna Gaines, and more.

A Special Moment at the CMAs

At the CMAs, Erin and Ben presented their good friend Chris Stapleton with the award for Male Vocalist of the Year, a moment they’ll cherish forever. They first met Chris and his wife, Morgane Stapleton, four years ago. "Becoming friends with Chris Stapleton and Morgane Stapleton and their family in 2018 was a godsend when we were navigating our new careers on the public stage," Erin wrote. "They became like family for us: mentors and guides in this strange world we’ve found ourselves in. It was such an honor to present Chris with the award that made him the winningest male vocalist in CMA history last night."
