However, life had other plans for them, and the couple parted ways in 2011. Brian remained positive about the experience, sharing during an August 2014 interview with the Herald-Tribune, "She had some personal stuff going on and she wanted to take a break from everything. Things work out the way they're supposed to."
Fast forward a few years, and fate brought Mika and Brian back together. By this point, Mika was already a devoted mom to Jade, who was born in February 2009. Brian didn't hesitate to step into the role of a loving "Bonus Dad," embracing Jade as his own. The bond between them grew stronger with every passing day, and Brian couldn't be happier about it. In a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating Jade's birthday in February 2020, Brian wrote, "Happy Birthday to the best thing that has EVER happened to me! Thank you for 11 years of incredible memories... I am honored to be your 'Bonus Dad.' I love you more than anything, Jade."
