Let me tell you something about Lee Greenwood. Sure, you know him as the man behind some of country music's biggest hits, including the iconic anthem “God Bless the U.S.A.” But there’s more to this guy than just the music. Lee is also a proud father and a devoted family man. He and his wife, Kimberly Payne, have built an incredible life together, raising a blended family full of love, laughter, and pride. So, let's dive in and learn more about this amazing family.

How Many Kids Does Lee Greenwood Have? Let’s Break It Down

Lee Greenwood's family tree is a big one. He and Kimberly got married in 1992, and together they welcomed two sons, Dalton and Parker. But that's not all. Lee is also a dad to four older children—Laura, Marc, Kelly, and Ted—from previous relationships. That’s right, folks, we’re talking about a blended family that’s nothing short of inspiring.

Now, let’s rewind a bit. Lee opened up about his early days of fatherhood in a March 2020 interview with Closer. He talked about his first marriage, which happened when he was just 17 years old. “We had two children, Laura and Ted,” Lee recalled. “And I’m still very close to both of them. Back then, that’s why I was given a 3A classification in the Vietnam draft. I would’ve gladly joined the military, but it kept me out. Life works in mysterious ways, doesn’t it?”

Lee hasn’t always been one to share the intimate details of his personal life. When it comes to his relationships with his other two older children and their mothers, he’s kept things pretty private. Back in March 2010, Lee opened up to The Boot about his journey in love and family. “Kim is the only woman I’ve ever loved,” he said. “I don’t say that to make my other wives feel bad. My exes, I don’t talk to them. The divorces weren’t pleasant. But for my children’s sake, I do respect their mothers because they took care of those children when I wasn’t there. I’m an active father in this marriage, and I think that’s how I’ve changed and matured. You just keep searching until you find someone you really love. That’s the key.”

Who Are Lee Greenwood’s Sons Dalton and Parker? A Closer Look

Now let’s talk about Lee’s two youngest sons, Dalton and Parker. Both of these guys have shown a real interest in music, following in their dad’s footsteps. Parker graduated from Texas Christian University in 2022 with a degree in musical theater and composition. Dalton, on the other hand, earned a PhD from Vanderbilt University. He’s even shown off his vocal talents in videos posted on his dad’s Facebook page. “They’re upstanding young men who’ve taken the world by the horns!” Lee proudly shared with Closer about his boys.

Lee also mentioned how raising his kids outside the glitz and glam of Hollywood has helped him form a closer bond with his family. “One of the key things is getting out of Tinseltown—we live in Tennessee,” he explained. “And our creativity about love and passion for our life is what keeps us so solidly together. We shared all of the ups and downs of raising the boys. Now we’re empty nesters and reach out for things to do to keep our love alive. There’s no limit on things that my wife likes to do, and I love that.”
