Before Laura: Dennis Quaid's Marriages Through the Years
Dennis Quaid, the Emmy-nominated actor, began his journey in love by marrying his first wife, actress P.J. Soles, back in 1978. Their marriage lasted until 1983, but it wasn’t the last time Dennis would find love on the big screen. In 1988, Dennis starred alongside Meg Ryan in the thriller D.O.A. and sparks flew between them. Their on-screen chemistry turned into a real-life romance, leading them to tie the knot in 1991. A year later, they welcomed their son, Jack Henry Quaid. However, their marriage faced challenges, and they eventually parted ways in 2001.

In 2004, Dennis married real estate agent Kimberly Buffington, and together they welcomed fraternal twins via surrogate in 2007: Zoe Grace Quaid and Thomas Boone Quaid. After 12 years together, Dennis and Kimberly decided to part ways, finalizing their divorce in 2018. During this time, Dennis also dated model Santa Auzina from 2016 to 2019. But as fate would have it, Dennis was about to meet the love of his life.

Meet Laura Savoie: The Love of Dennis Quaid's Life
When Dennis met Laura Savoie, a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin’s Red McCombs School of Business, he knew right away that she was different. Despite the 39-year age gap, Dennis addressed critics in a November 2019 interview with The Guardian.
"I didn’t go out looking for an age gap or someone younger than me," Dennis explained. "I met her at a business event, and the relationship developed naturally. Love doesn’t come with a manual, and you can’t control who you fall for. I don’t fall in love easily, but when I do, I know it’s real. This is the final chapter for me, and I feel like I’ve found my true partner in life."
Laura is not only a brilliant academic, having graduated at the top of her class from Pepperdine University in 2014 and earning her first master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, but she also brings a sense of warmth and understanding to Dennis's life. In October 2019, Dennis proposed to Laura during a romantic vacation to Hawaii.
"It happened on the northernmost point of Oahu, at Turtle Bay," Dennis shared with Extra at the time. "It was spontaneous and a complete surprise for Laura. I had the ring in my pocket, and I’d been planning it for about a month and a half. I wanted it to be private, just the two of us."
