In the video she shared, Carrie Ann appeared in her hospital bed after the surgery, providing fans with updates on her diagnosis. She explained that her recovery period is estimated to last four to six weeks. Now, that's a pretty significant chunk of time, but it shows just how serious her condition was.
“Appendicitis attacks can strike out of nowhere, and the pain can be unbearable,” Carrie Ann continued. “When you're in that kind of pain, the last thing you want to do is move. And if you have autoimmune diseases, like I do, it’s easy to overlook symptoms or try to wait them out. That was a mistake I made, and I’m so grateful I got the care I needed in time.”
Carrie Ann described her symptoms, which began with intense abdominal pain, followed by violent vomiting that left her unable to stand. The pain eventually became so severe that it forced her to seek medical attention. Thankfully, she was diagnosed with appendicitis and received the surgery she needed to prevent further complications.

Carrie Ann isn’t just battling appendicitis; she’s also managing several chronic health conditions that have affected her life and career over the years. She currently lives with Sjogren’s syndrome, lupus, fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritis. These illnesses can make even the simplest tasks feel like climbing a mountain.
Sjogren’s syndrome, according to the Mayo Clinic, is an autoimmune disorder characterized by dry eyes and a dry mouth. It’s one of those conditions that may seem minor at first glance, but it can significantly impact daily life. Carrie Ann has been open about how she manages her symptoms, including inflammation.
“All I’ve done is focus on eating foods that nourish my body and soul—foods that love me back,” she told Health Digest in October 2022. “I’ve also been using my hyperbaric oxygen chamber regularly and ensuring I move my body every single day, no matter how much pain I’m in. That sounds simple, but during a flare-up, it feels almost impossible. It’s like your body won’t cooperate with you, and you have to find ways to keep pushing forward.”
