Kristen Bell isn’t shy about sharing her parenting methods, and this time, she’s opened up about one of her most unconventional decisions. The beloved The Good Place actress recently revealed that her daughters, Delta and Lincoln, enjoy ordering non-alcoholic beer at restaurants. If you're scratching your head, don’t worry—Kristen has an explanation that’s as heartwarming as it is unexpected.

Kristen Bell Explains Her Unique Parenting Choice on The Kelly Clarkson Show

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on July 24, Kristen, 43, discussed her decision to let her two young daughters drink non-alcoholic beer. Now, before you judge too quickly, hear her out. Kristen admitted that the idea might sound a little wild, but she stressed that “context is everything.” And when you hear her reasoning, it makes perfect sense.

For Delta, 8, and Lincoln, 9, their love for the non-alcoholic beverage started during family walks around the neighborhood with their dad, Dax Shepard, who has been sober for years. “He’s a recovering addict,” Kristen explained. “But he likes non-alcoholic beer, so he’d pop one open, have [our oldest daughter] on his chest, and we’d all walk together, watching the sunset.”

How It All Began: A Family Tradition

Lincoln first got a taste of the non-alcoholic beer when she was just a baby. “As a baby, she was pawing at it, and sometimes she’d suck on the rim of it,” Kristen recalled. “I think it feels to her like something special, something daddy, something family.”

Fast forward to today, and both Lincoln and Delta have continued to ask for non-alcoholic beer when they go out to eat with their parents. “We’ve been at restaurants where she’s said, ‘Do you have any non-alcoholic beer?’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe we just keep that for home time,’” Kristen reflected. But hey, who can blame them? It’s a harmless tradition that brings the family closer together.

    Kristen’s Take on the Critics

While some might find the Bell family’s choice of beverage a little unconventional, Kristen isn’t losing any sleep over it. “But then I’m sort of like, you can judge me if you want, I’m not doing anything wrong,” she added with a laugh. “That’s your problem.” And honestly, who can argue with that?

This conversation about non-alcoholic beer came just two months after Kristen sustained a minor nose injury while practicing martial arts with Delta. “Minor jujitsu injury… took some teeth to the nose. Will recover,” Kristen joked in a candid Instagram post on May 17. “You should see the other guy!!!! (She is 8, the fruit of my loins and has big, sharp, buck teeth.)”

While Kristen walked away with a small gash on her nose and some redness, she’s since made a full recovery. And honestly, it’s just another example of how resilient Kristen and her family are.

Delta and Lincoln: The Next Generation of Bell Comedy

As Delta and Lincoln grow older, they’re definitely showing off their personalities more. They’ve inherited their mom’s resilience and hilarious comedy chops. In fact, Kristen once joked that if a movie was made about her life, it would be called “My Kids Keep Me Grounded.” And honestly, who could blame her? With daughters like Delta and Lincoln, Kristen has plenty of reasons to stay grounded.
