Let me tell you, folks, love stories don’t get much sweeter than this. Dr. Phil McGraw and his beloved wife, Robin McGraw, recently celebrated an incredible 47 years of marriage. To mark this monumental milestone, the couple decided to go all out and celebrate aboard a luxurious yacht cruising along the breathtaking coast of Italy on Monday, August 14.
A Love Story Worth Celebrating
Robin, who’s now 69, took to Instagram to share her heartfelt sentiments for her husband, Phil, who’s 72. She captioned a tribute with the simple yet profound words, “Love is in the air.” She added, “I love you, Phillip, always and forever.” If that doesn’t melt your heart, I don’t know what will. These two have been through thick and thin, and their bond only seems to grow stronger with every passing year.
Of course, Phil wasn’t about to let the occasion pass without sharing his own tribute. In his post, he revealed the incredible journey they’ve been on since they first met when Robin was just 19. Their youngest son, Jordan McGraw, and his wife, Morgan Stewart, joined them for this special trip. For those keeping track, Phil and Robin are also proud parents to their eldest son, Jay McGraw, who’s happily married to Erica Dahm. It’s truly a family affair!

The Mediterranean Getaway
Both Phil and Robin shared a stunning collection of photos from their vacation, mixing current snapshots with some throwback pictures from the early days of their marriage. The boat ride along the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean seemed like the perfect escape for this loving couple. After all, they currently call a magnificent home in Beverly Hills their sanctuary, but there’s something magical about celebrating love in a place as enchanting as Italy.
Their story began back in the ‘70s when Phil’s younger sister introduced Robin to the family. Robin fondly recalls their first meeting: “He walks into the room and asks, ‘Well, who are you?’ I thought, ‘Well, that’s kind of rude,’ so I replied, ‘Well, who are you?’” She laughs as she continues, “He says, ‘Well, I’m Phil.’ So, I told him who I was, and we ended up talking for hours in the family room. The next night, he asked me out, and the rest, as they say, is history.”
Keeping the Love Alive
Their 1976 wedding was the start of a beautiful chapter in their lives. After more than four decades of marriage, they’ve managed to keep the spark alive by never forgetting the little things that make a relationship special. Robin gushes about her husband’s thoughtful gestures: “He always does the one thing he knows I really love, which is getting my favorite dessert for every occasion—wedding cake. That’s my go-to dessert, and he knows how much I adore it, so he always makes sure it’s there for me.”
As proud grandparents to four grandchildren, Phil and Robin are living proof that love only grows stronger with time. Robin reminisces about their early days: “He’s so romantic. Even when we were still in school and living in a tiny apartment, we were just as happy then as we are now. One day, he went to a nearby park, took a knife, and carved a heart into a tree trunk. He wrote, ‘PM heart RM,’ took a picture of it, got it developed, and framed it. I thought it was the sweetest thing. It was such a precious gift.”
Their love story is one for the ages, and it’s clear that Dr. Phil and Robin McGraw are still madly in love after all these years. Cheers to 47 years—and many more to come!
