Teri Hatcher’s Surprising Dating App Experience

Who would’ve thought that even someone as iconic as Teri Hatcher could face a dating app drama? The beloved actress recently revealed that she got booted off a popular dating platform for a reason that might leave you scratching your head. In an appearance on Getting Grilled With Curtis Stone, Teri opened up about her quest for love in the digital age.

At 59, Teri has tried just about every dating app out there. But her latest attempt on Hinge took an unexpected turn. "I thought, 'Hey, universe, I’m ready to be open and vulnerable,'” she explained. “I figured joining Hinge was my way of putting myself out there. But guess what? They didn’t believe it was actually me." Can you imagine? Being so famous that people think you're faking being... well, you!

Why Was She Kicked Off?

Curtis Stone, who hosted the show, was just as intrigued as we are. He asked Teri why exactly she got kicked off the app. Her response? “They thought I was pretending to be Teri Hatcher.” Can you blame them? It sounds wild, but when you're a celebrity, sometimes people find it hard to believe you're just trying to swipe like everyone else. Even though the app eventually apologized, Teri admitted she was over it. “I’m sort of over it,” she said with a laugh. “I’m definitely done with dating apps.”

  • Teri went on to explain that while she’s not actively looking for love, she’s perfectly content with her life as it is. “I have a really full life, a really busy life,” she shared. “I have beautiful friends. Honestly, I don’t need a man. I’ve got my cat, and that’s enough for me right now.” Now that’s what I call confidence and self-assurance!

    A Life Beyond Dating Apps

Teri has been through two marriages and divorces in her lifetime. Her first marriage was to Marcus Leithold in 1988, but they split just a year later. Then, in 1994, she married Jon Tenney, with whom she welcomed her daughter Emerson Tenney in 1997. However, their union ended in 2003. Despite these experiences, Teri is more than okay with being single. In fact, she’s thriving!

In a December 2019 interview with People, Teri made it clear that there’s a difference between being lonely and being alone. “I’ve been single for a very long time, but there’s nothing lonely about my life,” she said. “I want to remove the stigma of being single. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying your own company.” Teri’s perspective is refreshing and empowering, especially in a world where being single is often misunderstood.

    Thriving as a Single Woman

Teri’s journey is a testament to the fact that life after divorce doesn’t have to be bleak. “Many women who get divorced will not get remarried,” she noted. “But that doesn’t mean they’re not living their best lives. Many women aren’t just surviving—they’re thriving. They’re empowered, they’re making money, they’re being healthy, they’re traveling. You are allowed to be proud of your life, even when you’re not part of a couple.” It’s a message that resonates deeply with so many women out there.
