Mina Starsiak Hawk Speaks Out on Her Podcast
In an eye-opening episode of her “Mina AF” podcast aired on December 12, Mina Starsiak Hawk, the 39-year-old star of HGTV's "Good Bones," delved into the details of her fallout with co-star Cory Miller. Fans have been buzzing ever since they noticed the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking speculation about what really happened behind the scenes.
Longtime Friendship Turned Sour
Mina, who has known Cory since he was 11 years old, started the podcast episode by addressing the elephant in the room. She wanted to clear the air in a respectful way, acknowledging that her platform gives her a voice that Cory might not have. "Cory and I are not on speaking terms," she admitted. "I'm sure there are things he feels I did to him, but I've known him for so long, and he's always held a special place in my heart."
However, Mina explained that recent events led her to a place where she couldn't simply "move on." She realized that maintaining such a toxic dynamic wasn't beneficial for her well-being. "I've got an amazing support system, and part of nurturing those relationships means letting go of negativity," she added.

Why the Instagram Unfollow?
Mina took a moment to explain why she and Cory decided to unfollow each other on social media. "It’s not about cutting ties completely," she said. "It's more about protecting myself from the drama. There are so many people who follow others just to see them fail, or to criticize their appearance. I don’t want to be one of those people, nor do I want others treating me that way." She emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with positivity and filtering out negativity.

As the project manager on "Good Bones," Cory became a beloved figure among fans, especially as his friendship with Mina's mom, Karen E. Laine, blossomed on screen. However, with the series finale airing on October 17, it seems this professional chapter has come to an end.
Looking Forward
"I just wanted to step back and create some distance," Mina shared. "I think Cory felt the same way. It's disappointing because we've had such a great relationship over the years. But sometimes, when things end poorly, it's an opportunity to reflect and make better choices moving forward." She admitted that she may have contributed to the negative narrative but chose not to dive deeper into specifics during the podcast.
This revelation comes after Mina previously disclosed her strained relationship with her mother Karen and brother Tad Starsiak in August. The tension was further amplified by comments from fellow cast member MJ Coyle, who claimed the cast was "miserable" during the filming of season 8.
Meanwhile, Cory hasn't publicly addressed the feud with Mina. Instead, he's been spotted working on new projects, including collaborations with Karen, sharing updates on his Instagram Stories.
