But here's the twist—his partner-in-crime, the one-and-only Kelly Ripa, wasn't by his side. Instead, Mark, who's 52, brought along their daughter, Lola Consuelos, for some father-daughter bonding time. Now, this trip wasn't just about sightseeing; they were there to cheer on the Campobasso Football Club as they took on Roma City in a game on February 4. If you didn't know, Mark and Kelly, the Emmy-winning duo from "Live With Kelly and Mark," invested in this football club a few years back. They've been vocal supporters ever since, and this trip was all about showing their team some love.

Mark's Italian Adventure with Lola

Mark didn't waste any time sharing his Italian escapades on Instagram. He posted a video montage capturing their exciting day at the game. The pair sat in the stands, cheering wildly, and even made their way onto the field afterward to congratulate the players on their win. During the Tuesday, February 6, episode of "Live," Mark, who also shares sons Michael and Joaquin with Kelly, who's 53, shared that the trip wasn't all about soccer. Oh no, it was a foodie’s dream too. He indulged in "pizza, pasta, and beautiful croissants" while he was there. Life's all about balance, right?

Kelly Ripa's Take on the Trip

Now, you might be wondering why Kelly didn't tag along for the soccer adventure. Well, Mark actually extended the invitation, asking her to "fly with him to Italy for 24 hours." But as Kelly put it, "I’m Kelly, have we met? No, I don’t want to fly to Italy for 24 hours." It's safe to say the New Jersey native wasn't too thrilled about the idea. She prefers to visit Italy for an extended vacation or, as she humorously suggested, for retirement. This wasn't the first time Kelly mentioned retirement on "Live." It's a topic she brings up fairly often, so it didn't come as much of a surprise.

Kelly's Future Plans

Back in November 2023, Kelly opened up about her aspirations for the future. She mentioned that visiting her youngest son, Joaquin, who's 20 and away at college, has sparked a desire in her to pursue a college degree. While it's uncertain if she'll continue her work on daytime television for much longer, she's definitely considering her next steps. During an episode of her "Let’s Talk Off Camera" podcast, Kelly said, "I didn’t go to college either, and every time I go to visit—our youngest son is at The University of Michigan—and every time I go to visit him … I’m like, I’m going to go to college here." She went on to say, "I’m finally going to when I retire from show business, I’m going to get my college degree and I can’t wait to go to the University of Michigan." Sounds like she's got big plans ahead!
