Let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like feeling the sand between your toes. Mark Consuelos, the charming cohost of Live With Kelly and Mark, recently shared how much he loves escaping to the beach with his family. In a candid interview, he dished on his go-to vacation spot and why it’s become such a cherished tradition for him and his wife, Kelly Ripa, along with their three kids.
Mark, who’s now 52, had a lot to say about his summertime routine in an interview with Mr. Feelgood last month. “Over the summer, we were lucky enough to spend some time near the ocean,” he said. “And at 6 p.m., when that sun starts setting, I’m out there swimming with my family. It doesn’t matter who shows up—anybody’s welcome! I’m there every single night, no exceptions, for what I call my ‘sunset swim.’ We jump into that salty water, watch the sun dip below the horizon, and just soak in those moments together. There’s nothing like being surrounded by your loved ones in a place as peaceful as the beach.”
Beach Life: A Family Affair
Mark and Kelly, who tied the knot back in 1996, took full advantage of their downtime during the show’s hiatus in late 2023. When Live goes on break, it gives everyone involved a chance to recharge, and for this power couple, that meant heading straight to the beach. “The annual hiatus is a blessing,” Mark explained. “It allows us to step away from the hustle and bustle of work, reset, and come back stronger for the fall lineup.”

And boy, did they make the most of it! In early September, Mark and Kelly posted a stunning montage of photos from their Labor Day beach getaway on Instagram. These pictures weren’t just any snapshots—they were filled with pure love and laughter. One shot even caught the couple locking lips against a breathtaking sunset. Other photos showcased them enjoying quality time with their kids, Michael, Lola, and Joaquin, all while basking in the warm sunshine. Kelly summed it up perfectly with her caption: “It’s so good … #SummerRenaissance. Happy Labor Day!” She even added a nod to Beyoncé’s hit song “Summer Renaissance,” which played in the background.

Mark’s Journey to Becoming a Morning Show Host
Mark’s journey to becoming a regular face on Live With Kelly and Mark began when Ryan Seacrest left the show in April 2023. Since then, watching the Riverdale actor brighten up mornings has become a daily ritual for many viewers. And guess what? Being in the spotlight hasn’t changed his relationship with Kelly one bit. If anything, it’s brought them even closer together. “She’s an extraordinary mother,” Mark said, gushing about his wife. “I feel so lucky to have married someone like her. My dad always told me, ‘Marry above your station,’ and I think I did just that.”
Looking Ahead: Grandchildren on the Horizon?
But here’s where things get really exciting: Mark hinted that there might be more family milestones ahead. “There’s definitely talk about grandchildren,” he revealed. “We’d love to be the favorite grandparents someday, but for now, we’re savoring every moment we have together as a family.”
Mark also shared some heartfelt advice for anyone looking to build a lasting relationship: “Find someone you enjoy walking on the beach with, someone you can talk to about the future, about your dreams and aspirations. That’s exactly what Kelly and I did when we were 24 years old, and we’re still doing it today, 27 years later. It’s all about connection and communication.”
