There’s nothing quite like family time on stage! The legendary singer Billy Joel, known for hits like “Piano Man,” brought his two youngest daughters, Della Rose and Remy Anne, onto the Madison Square Garden stage during a performance on December 19. It was a heartwarming moment that showcased not only Billy’s immense talent but also the budding talents of his daughters.

Eight-year-old Della and six-year-old Remy, dressed adorably in green dresses, joined their dad in singing the festive holiday classic "Jingle Bells." The proud father, who is 74 years young, shared the special moment with his fans by posting photos on Instagram, highlighting the presence of his "special guests." And if that wasn’t enough excitement for the audience, Elvis Costello also made a guest appearance, lending his voice to some timeless classics alongside Billy.

Billy's Musical Legacy Continues

Billy shares these two little ones with his wife, Alexis Roderick, and together, they’re raising the next generation of music lovers. As Billy gears up for the final stretch of his residency at Madison Square Garden, which is set to conclude on July 25, 2024, fans are eagerly anticipating what will surely be a memorable farewell concert.

  • Reflecting on the longevity of his residency, Billy expressed his surprise and gratitude during a press conference in June 2023. "I’m kind of flabbergasted that it lasted as long as it did," he admitted. "My team tells me that we could continue to sell tickets, but 10 years, 150 shows — all right already!"

    A Decade of Memories

It all started back in 2014 when Billy embarked on his residency at the iconic venue. Over the years, he has expressed immense gratitude to his loyal fans who have traveled from near and far to see him perform in the Big Apple. "To our audience, I want to thank them for coming to our shows for this long," he said. "It’s hard to end, even at 150 lifetime shows. I just want to thank everyone for the wonderful thing that’s happened here."

    A Family Affair: Musical Legacy

Music seems to run deep in Billy’s family. In addition to Della and Remy, Billy is also the father of Alexa Ray Joel, whom he had with his ex-wife Christie Brinkley. Their marriage lasted from 1985 to 1994, and both remain proud of Alexa's accomplishments. Now 37, Alexa has carved out her own niche in the music world, performing alongside her father numerous times in the past.

Alexa formed her own band in the early 2000s and has since released several singles. In a candid interview with USA Today back in February 2015, Alexa reflected on her journey. "I was a late bloomer," she admitted. "I wasn’t comfortable enough to put myself out there until I reached my mid-20s. We have very different comfort zones, performance-wise. He’s comfortable in a stadium — and obviously, he can play at that level; he’s a legend. But even as I progress, I think I’d like to stick to intimate venues."
