Speaking in December 2023, she said, “So, there’s been enough questions about Cory that I’m going to try to address this in a respectful way again, understanding that I have a platform that he maybe doesn’t have.” She went on to explain, “Cory and I are not on speaking terms. I am positive that there are things he feels like I did to him, and I have known him since he was 11, and I’ve always had a soft spot for him.”

Just days after this episode aired, Karen, 61, took to Instagram to share a photo with Cory during a home renovation project in Wilmington, North Carolina. The caption read, “[Cory] visited my little Wilmington house! So much fun and nice to have an extra brain and good attitude for problem solving.” This move didn't sit well with Mina.

Tensions Mount as Family Drama Unfolds

The situation worsened when Mina found herself at odds with her half-brother, Tad Starsiak, following a heated exchange via text months prior. An insider shared, “It felt petty, like Mina was stabbed in the back,” referring to Karen’s public display of camaraderie with Cory. Despite the chaos, Mina was determined to make the most of the holiday season for her family.

Mina, who shares two children, Jack and Charlotte, with her husband Steve Hawk, documented parts of their Christmas festivities on her Instagram Stories. On Christmas morning, she posted videos of her kids opening presents. Jack, 5, and Charlotte, 3, enjoyed quality time with their cousins, all dressed in matching Christmas pajamas. Before the holidays, Mina revealed that she and Steve, 42, had received two invitations from family members and planned to attend both events. She expressed her thoughts on the importance of family gatherings during a podcast episode, saying, “If we’re a little bit past the kids’ bedtime, that’s OK, because I know them seeing your grandma and getting to know her a little bit more as well as being able to be with all their cousins, those things are both important to us.”
