A Trip Down Memory Lane: Kelly and Mark Head Back to Vegas
There’s something magical about Las Vegas, especially for Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. The co-hosts of Live With Kelly and Mark originally tied the knot in the City of Sin nearly 28 years ago, and they’re making a pilgrimage back to the very spot where it all began. In just a few weeks, they’ll be broadcasting live from Las Vegas, giving fans a front-row seat to the memories that shaped their life together.
At 53, Kelly and 52-year-old Mark are gearing up for a memorable trip. They’ll be hosting Live from Las Vegas on February 26 and 27. This wasn’t just a casual decision—they’re determined to visit the chapel where they exchanged vows, a place that holds immense significance for them. It’s not just about nostalgia; it’s about sharing that special moment with their audience.
Mark Opens Up About Their Special Place
In a candid interview with People, Mark revealed just how much the chapel means to them. “We’re definitely going back there,” he said, his voice filled with warmth. “It’s a very special place. We always try to make a drive-by when we’re in town, but this time, we’re going to take the viewers inside, where it all happened.”

Mark, who’s best known for his role on Riverdale, explained that they wanted to give fans an intimate look at the place where their love story began. “It’s not just a chapel; it’s the place where we started our lives together,” he added, his tone reflective. “We think it’ll be really cool to share that with everyone.”
A Simple, Spontaneous Wedding That Stood the Test of Time
Back in 1996, Kelly and Mark decided to elope. They were working on All My Children when they met, and their whirlwind romance eventually led them to the altar. “We just had a very normal, very regular wedding,” Kelly recalled during an episode of Live in August 2022. She laughed as she reminisced about the experience. “It was such an efficient way to get married. And it was fun! We were like, ‘Now, this is gambling! Woohoo!’”
For Kelly and Mark, the decision to get married in Vegas was as spontaneous as it gets. They booked the whole thing for just $179, including airfare. “We were young, in love, and thought, ‘Why not?’” Kelly said with a smile. “We had two days off, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity.”
Family Life and the Legacy of Their Wedding Day
Fast forward to today, and life looks a little different for the couple. They’re now proud parents to Michael, Lola, and Joaquin. Despite the years that have passed, their wedding day remains a cherished memory. “It was really romantic, though. It was very sweet,” Kelly shared, her voice filled with nostalgia. “We cherish those memories, still to this day. It’s been 28 years, and we can remember every minute of that wedding. And I mean, it was really minutes—it was like two minutes!”

Bringing the Stars to Vegas
While in Vegas, Kelly and Mark won’t just be reminiscing. They’ll also be interviewing some of the biggest names in entertainment. Their lineup includes Sheryl Lee Ralph, Howie Mandel, Jim Gaffigan, and the legendary Lionel Richie. It’s going to be a star-studded week, and fans are in for a treat.
“During their star-studded stay, Kelly and Mark will be joined each morning by celebrities, musicians, and more in front of thousands of fans,” a press release for the special Live broadcasts said. The couple is clearly excited to bring their fans along for the ride, both inside the chapel and on the stage.
