When Frankie was born in May 2022, Kathie Lee couldn’t contain her excitement. She was over-the-moon thrilled to welcome her first grandchild into the world. “My heart is bursting,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Frank Michael Gifford is here, confirming that our God is good and merciful and faithful. Living Life to the Fullest with Her Grandkids

Nowadays, Kathie Lee, who calls Nashville, Tennessee, home, is soaking up every single moment she gets to spend with her grandkids. And trust me, there are plenty of them! In fact, she has a growing brood of little ones to dote on. “I knew I was going to love Frank instantly because I love babies,” she shared with Today.com back in August 2022. “But this is my son’s child—my husband’s son’s son—it’s all such a beautiful tapestry of life and creation.”

Frankie's Name Tells a Special Story

Frankie’s name holds a deep significance. He was named after his late grandfather, Frank Gifford, who tragically passed away in August 2015 at the age of 84. Frank and Kathie Lee were married for 29 years, and his legacy lives on through this little bundle of joy. “I was surprised Cody named him after his dad because Cody knew what it was like to grow up in the shadow of a great man,” Kathie Lee revealed during an appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna in June 2022. “But I guess he’s never gotten over, really, and he never will, the loss of his dad at an early age and he was his hero and he still is.”

A Growing Family Brings Even More Joy

It’s not just Frankie who’s filling Kathie Lee’s life with joy. Cody and Erika are also parents to another son, Ford, whom they welcomed in November 2023. Kathie Lee couldn’t have been more thrilled about his arrival. “Welcome to the family Ford Matthew Gifford. Thank you God for this beautiful blessing. Bubbe already loves you so much Ford,” she gushed on Instagram.

And if that wasn’t enough, Kathie Lee is also a grandmother to her daughter Cassidy Gifford’s son, Finn, who was born in June 2023. Finn is with Cassidy and her husband, Ben Wierda, and together they’re creating a whole new chapter of love and happiness.

As one of her friends told Closer in December 2023, Kathie Lee sees her grandchildren as nothing short of divine gifts. “She’s very spiritual, so she sees her grandchildren as God’s gifts,” the friend explained. “She says being a grandma—or Bubbe, as she prefers to be called—is a true blessing.”
