Unfortunately, their marriage ended a decade later.

Tragically, Eddie passed away at the age of 65 in October 2020 after a long battle with throat cancer. Wolfgang paid a heartfelt tribute to his father on Twitter, saying, "He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him, on and off stage, was a gift. I love you so much, Pop." This heartfelt message highlighted the deep bond Wolfgang shared with his dad.

These days, Valerie Bertinelli is thoroughly enjoying her role as a loving mother. In August 2020, she appeared virtually on Today and couldn’t help but gush about reuniting with her son, Wolfie, after months of not seeing each other due to the coronavirus pandemic. "We didn’t see each other, except for FaceTime, for at least three months, I think," she reminisced. "When I finally got to hug him, it lasted a very, very long time. I adore him. He comes over for dinner, and we watch movies together. It’s just a joy having him around."
