Chloe Lattanzi cherishes the memories of cuddling with her mom, the iconic Olivia Newton-John, watching TV together. Olivia introduced Chloe to timeless classics like All About Eve, while Chloe brought her mom into the world of modern directors like Quentin Tarantino. “And we both loved The Real Housewives. If we wanted to indulge in a little guilty pleasure, we’d climb into bed and binge-watch that,” Chloe told Closer. “Oh, and let’s not forget Bridgerton,” she adds with a smile.
In the two years since losing her beloved mother at the age of 73, Chloe, now 38, feels her mom's spirit guiding her every step of the way. “Mom always emphasized that the most important thing to her was my happiness and peace,” Chloe reflects. To honor her mom's memory, Chloe released a heartfelt single called “Phoenix” on September 26, marking what would have been Olivia’s 76th birthday. “I wanted to write a song to make a promise to her—that I’d find joy again,” Chloe explains. Despite her ongoing grief, Chloe acknowledges that “two years feels like nothing compared to the hole she left behind.” Losing her mom after a long battle with cancer felt like losing half of herself, but she’s determined to keep moving forward.
Singing has always been Chloe's way of connecting with her mother. “I started making up songs when I was just two years old,” Chloe recalls fondly. “I’d sing my little heart out and then say, ‘Now it’s your turn, Mom.’”

Following in her mother’s footsteps into the entertainment industry was no easy feat for Chloe. As a teenager, she signed a recording deal, but the pressure became overwhelming. “I battled anorexia and got sick, so my album never saw the light of day,” Chloe admits. Olivia encouraged her to find her own path. “She told me, ‘You’re incredibly talented, but if this industry doesn’t bring you joy, you don’t have to stay,’” Chloe says. “She even urged me to go to school and explore other options.”
Now, Chloe sees music as a form of escape and a way to give back to others while staying close to her mother’s legacy. In 2015, “You Have to Believe,” a remix of Olivia’s hit “Magic” featuring Chloe and DJ Dave Audé, topped Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. Chloe and Olivia also collaborated on a duet, “Window in the Wall,” in 2021. These musical milestones have helped Chloe heal and honor her mom’s memory.
“I’m realizing now that I don’t need to be Beyoncé to make an impact,” Chloe says. “I’m more drawn to producing music and working behind the scenes than being in the spotlight.” Her passion lies in creating meaningful projects that resonate with others.
Carrying Forward Olivia Newton-John’s Legacy
Chloe is also dedicated to advancing the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, which her mother founded in Australia in 2012. “My biggest fear since losing Mom is that the Wellness Centre won’t get the funding it needs,” Chloe confesses. The center provides cutting-edge holistic treatments for cancer patients and their families, and Chloe dreams of expanding its reach. “I envision every hospital having a wellness center offering acupuncture, herbal remedies, and therapy,” she says. Chloe will attend Olivia’s Walk for Wellness fundraiser on October 6, where she’s excited to see the joy in people’s faces. “When I see that joy, I see my mom in it,” she shares.
