Why Scarlett Johansson Is Jenna's Dream Guest
For Jenna, working with Scarlett Johansson has been a dream come true. "Scarlett Johansson is a queen in her own right," Jenna told People. "I’ve been a huge fan of her movies for as long as I can remember. From her role in The Girl With a Pearl Earring to her iconic role as Black Widow in the Avengers franchise, she’s an incredible talent." Jenna added, "She’s also a big reader, which makes her even more relatable to me. We definitely have a lot in common."
Jenna continued, "This is such a surreal experience. Scarlett could be doing anything with her time, but she’s chosen to spend a week with us. It’s a testament to the amazing show we’ve built, and I couldn’t be more excited. We’ve never seen Scarlett host a daytime show before, so this is going to be a first for everyone!"
Hoda Kotb’s Supportive Words
Hoda Kotb, Jenna’s long-time cohost, was all smiles and support for the announcement. As Hoda prepares to leave 'Today' on January 10, she gave her stamp of approval to Scarlett’s upcoming role. "First of all, you guys had a great click. She’s an awesome person," Hoda reflected. "I remember the moment Jenna saw Scarlett and said, 'Can she do it?' You know that feeling when you just know someone’s going to be great at something? That’s exactly what happened here."

Jenna echoed the excitement. "I think we’re going to have such a great time," she remarked.
January: The Month of Wonder Women
The day before, it was announced that in the first week after Hoda’s departure from 'Today,' Taraji P. Henson, Eva Longoria, and Keke Palmer will be guest cohosting 'Today With Jenna & Friends,' the show’s fourth hour. "We adore these women," Jenna said during the Monday, January 6, episode. "I feel like Hoda helped me manifest this. Nobody will ever fill this chair, but the three of them sure can try."
Jenna described January as the "month of wonder women" on 'Today.' "What’s so cool about it is that it really does feel like we’re pulling up chairs for all different types of people," she said. "Yes, we have actors, but we also have comedians and people in media. And I think that really is what we’re hoping to have: a total representation of who watches our show and something for every viewer."

But Jenna admitted that saying goodbye to Hoda will be tough. "I adore Hoda. She’s been the best partner, the most generous partner, and we’re truly great friends," Jenna confessed. "The thought of her not being here is almost too much to bear. I’ve had months to wrap my head around it, but I can’t promise that our last Hoda-bration won’t also be filled with tears. I’m sure it will be just because I can’t help it. I’m excited and nervous and thrilled, and I’m also really, really going to miss Hoda."
