A Celebration of Life: Honoring Bob Saget at Cool Comedy, Hot Cuisine
On a memorable evening in October, the entertainment world came together in Los Angeles to celebrate the life of beloved comedian Bob Saget at the annual Cool Comedy, Hot Cuisine event. This gathering wasn’t just about laughter—it was about supporting a cause that was deeply personal to Bob. His widow, Kelly Rizzo, shared with Closer, “This cause was incredibly important to Bob because he lost his sister, Gay, to scleroderma in 1994. It was something that touched his heart deeply.”
The event was a resounding success, raising over $1.3 million for the Scleroderma Research Foundation. But more than the funds, it was the overwhelming outpouring of love and support for Bob that made the night truly special. "Bob would have been so proud to see how much his passion for this cause has inspired others," said one attendee.
Remembering Bob: Tributes from Those Who Knew Him Best
Bob’s legacy as a kind and generous soul was celebrated by those who knew him best. Candice Cameron Bure, his former Full House co-star, spoke warmly of Bob in an interview with Closer. "Bob was one of the kindest, most generous people I've ever known," she said. "He had this incredible ability to make people laugh, but what truly set him apart was his loving heart. I miss him every single day."

A Life of Love: Bob as a Father and Family Man
Beyond his successful acting career, Bob was a devoted father to his three daughters, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer, whom he shared with his ex-wife, Sherri Kramer. His daughters have often spoken about the profound impact their father had on their lives, and after his passing in 2022, they continued to honor his memory in meaningful ways.
In January 2022, shortly after losing her dad, Lara penned a heartfelt tribute on Instagram that resonated with many. "To anyone afraid to love, unconditional love is the greatest gift," she wrote. "My dad loved with everything he had. He had every reason to be scared to love, having lost so many loved ones, yet instead of being afraid, he loved even more. I am beyond grateful to have received and to be able to give that love."

"Love completely and be kind," Lara added. "These are the lessons that have stayed with me, and they mean the world. With love."
Staying Connected: Kelly Rizzo and Bob's Daughters
Kelly Rizzo has maintained a close bond with Bob's daughters after his passing. When asked on Instagram if she and Bob's girls still stay in touch, she responded with heartfelt words. "I’d say it’s more than just getting along," Kelly shared. "We love each other very, very much and talk or text every day. We’re so grateful for how close we are, because that’s not always the case in stepfamilies."
Currently, Kelly is dating actor Breckin Meyer, and she credits him with being a source of support in her life. "Breckin has been such a blessing because he’s so wonderful and supportive," she said. "It’s a big deal to come to an event like this, honoring my late husband, and he’s been amazing through it all. I feel incredibly fortunate because I know not everyone who loses a spouse has such an easy transition."
