Let me tell you something, folks. If there’s anyone who knows that The View can get a little heated, it’s Whoopi Goldberg. After telling her co-host Meghan McCain to “stop talking” during a recent episode, Whoopi decided it was time to clear the air on Tuesday, January 29. She wanted to set the record straight about any rumors of a feud between them.
Whoopi Speaks Up: "It's Just Part of What We Do"
Whoopi, known for her role in Ghost, didn’t mince words when she addressed the situation. “We just need to do a little clean-up before we move forward,” she said. “Sometimes we’re not as polite as we could be, and that’s just the way it is. But think about it—this is exactly what happens when you sit around the table with your family and you don’t agree. Someone says something, and before you know it, things can go off the rails. That’s life, folks.”

Whoopi Continues: "This Doesn't Mean We Can't Talk"
“Listen up, everybody,” Whoopi, now 64, added. “This is part of what we do. It’s not an indication that women can’t sit around and have meaningful conversations. Stuff happens on this show in real time, and you know what? That’s okay. Don’t go thinking that we’re over here with little butcher knives under the table. That’s not how it works. This is our job, and sometimes, yeah, it gets a little messy.”

Meghan McCain Joins In: "It's All Good"
Meghan McCain, 35, also wanted to make sure everyone knew the truth. “Whoopi and I get along great. I love you very much,” she said with a smile. “I’ve loved you for a long time. You were good friends with my dad. We might fight like we’re family, but guess what? It’s all good. We’re not tearing the set apart. Calm down, everyone. Seriously, it’s all good.”

Meghan Reflects: "We're Passionate Women"
Meghan went on to explain, “We’re all passionate women here. I’m hyper, hyper conservative, and everyone else at the table? Not so much. So, yeah, sometimes we’re going to clash heads. But guess what? That’s life, right? It’s indicative of what the holidays are like for a lot of people. We might have our differences, but we also come together. We’re fine, everything’s good. So, let’s move on.”
Whoopi's Final Word: "Expect More Drama"
It’s good to know that everything’s okay between Meghan and Whoopi. However, Whoopi, known for her role in Sister Act, wanted to make one thing clear: this isn’t the end of the drama. “It’s been 20 years of this,” the EGOT winner said with a laugh. “The bottom line is, yeah, it’s going to happen. It’s probably going to happen again. That’s just the nature of the beast. Just saying.”
