Though Steve Irwin passed away tragically in 2006 after being fatally injured by a stingray, Bindi knows her dad would have adored Chandler. Speaking with Closer Weekly in May 2019, she reflected on her father’s teachings. “Dad was always so kind and always said you had to follow your heart and do what you love,” she shared. “That’s really wonderful, and my mom and brother have always been so supportive of me, saying you just have to follow your heart through life. I’m pretty lucky.”
