Instead, he and his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, have chosen to keep Eric away from the news and discussions about the pandemic. Their goal? In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight on May 26, the 60-year-old Cowell explained, “We never have the news playing in the house, that’s rule number one. Whatever we need to talk about, we shield it. We keep him away from all of this because, at six years old, you know… it’s hard for all of us. But for someone that age, for any parent, I think we’d all feel the same way.” Cowell’s approach reflects his desire to create a safe and stable environment for his son during these unprecedented times.
Grateful for Family Time Amidst the Pandemic
Simon Cowell is appreciative of the time he’s spending with his son and longtime partner, Lauren Silverman, during the quarantine period. That’s where my thoughts go. It is quite remarkable.”

In early April, the devoted dad was seen out with his family, all wearing face masks during a bike ride. Cowell, Lauren, Eric, and Lauren’s 14-year-old son, Adam — whom she shares with her ex-husband Andrew Silverman — were all following social distancing guidelines as they enjoyed a family outing in Los Angeles. Eric was also sporting a helmet, showcasing Cowell's commitment to safety and protection for his young son.
