Marie Reflects on Her Dad's Influence
On Father's Day, Marie took to Instagram to celebrate her father's legacy and the profound impact it had on her life. She wrote, “Because of my dad’s heart, I had the courage to try again with the love of my life (who had one of the best dads ever as well).” The singer went on to express her gratitude, saying, “I am so grateful I did because my husband is just like my dad in so many ways.”

My dad had incredible integrity so I would think, “What would my dad do?” I think about him when my children come to me with a challenge… “what would my dad say?” I think about him when I’m down… “how did he keep going when things were so hard?” I think about him when my family is sitting around the table laughing and eating, and I say to myself, “I wish my dad was here!” If there was a way to have one more conversation with my dad, and I think anyone who has lost a parent wishes that, I would like one more time to say thank you. I would like just one more story, one more hug, one more walk together talking about nothing and everything.

The Lessons That Lasted a Lifetime
Marie explained that she decided to give Steve another chance after their 1985 divorce because he reminded her so much of her father. George Osmond's unwavering love for Marie's mother taught her invaluable lessons about loyalty and commitment. "The way he treated her taught me what it meant to be loyal to someone through good and bad times," she said. "Through his example, I knew not to ever settle for less as a woman, and I didn't." This lesson stayed with her throughout her life, guiding her choices and helping her find her way back to Steve.
A Journey of Love and Reunion
After their divorce, Marie married Brian Blosil in 1986, but their marriage ended 21 years later. It wasn't until 2011 that she remarried Steve, rekindling the love they once shared. "Nothing is an accident," Marie told People in 2019, reflecting on her reunion with Steve. "I am a spiritual person. So [I believe] God has his timing." Since then, the couple has been inseparable, proving that sometimes love finds its way back when you least expect it.
Quarantining Together Amidst Uncertainty
Marie and Steve have made the most of their time together, even during challenging circumstances. In March, they traveled to Utah to quarantine together due to Steve's diabetes and Marie's compromised immune system. While staying at home wasn't easy, the Grammy-nominated singer cherished the opportunity to reconnect with her beloved. "After growing up with a large family of brothers and then 36 years of raising my children, I’m enjoying being alone with my husband," she shared on Instagram. "It has been a blessing to have that time together especially after being apart for over 25 years!"
Now that they’re reunited, Marie is determined to cherish every moment with the man she loves. Her story is a testament to the power of love, the influence of family, and the strength that comes from honoring those who shaped us. As she said, “It has been a blessing to have that time together.”
