Kristen Bell Talks About Potty Training And Parenting During Quarantine

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard reveal their trick for getting daughter

Let me tell you something real quick. Kristen Bell, the incredibly talented actress and mom of two, recently opened up about her parenting journey, specifically focusing on potty training. Now, you might think this topic is a little mundane, but hear me out. Kristen’s youngest daughter, Delta, is still rocking diapers at 5 ½ years old, and she’s totally okay with it. During an episode of her show, “Momsplaining With Kristen Bell,” she shared, “My youngest is still in diapers, and guess what? No big deal.”

Now, some parents might stress about this kind of thing, but Kristen’s got a different perspective. She reminded everyone that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. In fact, she doubled down on this belief by tweeting, “I don’t think it’s embarrassing if your kid wears diapers later than others. Everyone is different. Delta is confident, goofy, and she doesn’t apologize for who she is. And that’s beautiful.”

On the same episode of “Momsplaining,” Kristen recounted her experience with her oldest daughter, Lincoln, who was a breeze when it came to potty training. “At just 21 months, Lincoln walked into the bathroom, saw the toilet, and that was it. No more diapers for her,” Kristen laughed. “My husband and I were like, ‘Why is everyone making such a fuss about this? It’s so easy.’” Of course, hindsight is 20/20, right?

Despite their usual privacy, Kristen and her husband, Dax Shepard, have been sharing more of their family life during the pandemic. They’ve been finding creative ways to keep their daughters entertained while stuck at home. Kristen told ET in April, “We’re doing art projects around the house. We’ve got neon glow paint, and we’ve been painting rocks outside so they glow in the dark. It’s just silly stuff, but it’s been a great way to reconnect with each other.”

But let’s not forget, even the best-laid plans can go awry. When it comes to homeschooling, Kristen admitted that it hasn’t been as smooth as she’d hoped, especially with Delta. “I threw in the towel,” she joked during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “It all went downhill when I tried to give Delta some math problems. She answered the first two and then got sassy, writing ‘No’ in the answer grid for the rest of the questions.”

    A Family That Laughs Together

Through it all, Kristen and Dax continue to find joy in their family life. Whether it’s through creative activities or just enjoying each other’s company, they’re making the most of quarantine. And honestly, who wouldn’t want to laugh at Delta’s hilarious responses to math problems?
