Let’s talk about John Tesh, the iconic TV star and musician, and how he's spending his days during the pandemic. In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Tesh opens up about how he’s staying entertained while in quarantine. It’s not all doom and gloom—there’s plenty of laughter, baking, and quality family time with his wife, Connie Sellecca, and their daughter, Prima Tesh. Sounds like a recipe for happiness, right?
Now, John, who’s 67 years old, has a fun story to tell. His family has taken up baking as a quarantine hobby, and it seems like they’ve turned their kitchen into a bakery. “My daughter, who’s 26, and my wife have gone crazy with baking bread! I don’t know if I should be proud or worried,” he jokes. “I think I’ve gained a few pounds, but hey, who’s counting?”

Life in Quarantine: A Feast of Family Fun
Imagine waking up to the smell of freshly baked banana bread, pumpkin bread, or even pumpkin pot pies. That’s exactly what John experiences every morning. “There’s just so much food everywhere! It’s like living in a bakery,” he says with a laugh. “It’s comforting, but I’m starting to think I might need to hit the gym soon.”

But it’s not all about food for John. He also shares how he bonds with his family through music. As a composer, John has a unique connection with his daughter, Prima, who’s a ballerina and modern dancer. “Prima actually tours with us. She dances during our shows, so there’s a real artistic connection between us,” he explains. “Even when she was a little girl, she was always around my piano, so music has always been a big part of our lives.”
Staying Healthy After Cancer
Despite indulging in all these delicious treats, John remains focused on his health. Since being declared cancer-free in 2018, he’s been diligent about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. “I have a daily routine that includes diet and exercise. It’s crucial for staying healed,” he says. “I don’t have any strict restrictions, but I try to eat well, especially since my wife and son are on the ketogenic diet.”
Connie and their stepson, Gib Gerard, help keep John on track. “They’re both on the keto diet, and it’s something that worked for me when I was sick. Now, I just try to eat clean and stay active,” he adds.
