Billy Stamos: Get To Know John Stamos’ Son Who Is His Mini-Me

Staying educated is essential, and John Stamos knows this firsthand. Following the tragic death of George Floyd, the beloved actor took to social media to express his gratitude to Sesame Street for hosting a special town hall addressing racism. As a dad to his 2-year-old son, Billy Stamos, John shared a heartfelt moment, capturing a photo of the two watching the PBS Kids show together.

“#Comingtogetherstandinguptoracism,” John captioned the image, showing him holding Billy on the couch. “Great stuff @cnn @sesamestreet! Our family thanks you!”

A Father's Commitment to Cultural Education

John Stamos, 56, is raising Billy alongside his wife, Caitlin McHugh. In his quest to ensure his son learns about Black culture, the Full House star took Billy to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on May 30. This visit was more than just a trip—it was a lesson. “#Racismislearned,” John wrote in the caption of the picture from the museum.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed by fans. Many praised Stamos for his commitment. “Teach him right!” one fan commented. Another chimed in, “Thank you so much for saying this and speaking up.” A third added, “You are one amazing father. Lucky kiddo to learn the important lessons this way.”

    Standing Up Against Racism

Stamos’ visit to the NMAAHC followed the tragic death of George Floyd, who passed away on May 25 while being restrained by white police officers in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Floyd's death ignited global protests against police brutality. Amidst the chaos, the Fuller House star remains determined to teach Billy about the challenges the world faces today.

In a candid interview with People in April 2018, Stamos opened up about parenthood. “I cry a lot,” he admitted. “It’s more beautiful than anyone told me it would be. I’ve been waiting a long time.” Thanks to McHugh’s unwavering support, Stamos feels empowered to guide his son through life. “She’s incredible,” he said. “She just eases through everything like she does life itself.”

As Billy grows, Stamos is keen to teach him about family, especially his late father, William Stamos, whom he considers a hero. “I hope I live up to what my dad did,” Stamos revealed on On Air with Ryan Seacrest in April 2018. “You know how you get to a point where you go, ‘My dad’s just a man?’ I never got to that point. He was always bigger than life to me, so I’m happy to honor him with our little Billy.” The conversation left Stamos emotional, as he confessed to Ryan, “I’m starting to cry right now, Ryan, I’m so emotional.”
