She’s letting the world in, and Melissa couldn’t be happier about it. “Reba was very, very open about that and she shared some stuff from her life that she didn’t necessarily have to,” Melissa, 49, shares enthusiastically. “That can be scary because you think, ‘Oh my gosh. If I say it out loud, I don’t know what the future holds.’ But she’s embracing it fully, and it’s inspiring.”
Reba’s New Podcast: A Platform for Vulnerability
Reba, now 65, has been more open than ever before on her brand-new podcast, “Living and Learning,” which she co-hosts with Melissa. The two have created a space where they can have honest conversations about life, love, and everything in between. But it was during their “Dating” episode, aired mid-October, when Melissa noticed something truly special. “She was the one who was sort of like, ‘No, I’m gonna go there,’” Melissa reveals. “And honestly, I’m hoping we get to explore even more topics and see if anything is off the table. Right now, our philosophy is, ‘Why wouldn’t you have a conversation? Whether it’s something you agree with or not, why wouldn’t you engage in meaningful dialogue?’”

A Friendship Two Decades Strong
For over two decades, Melissa and Reba have been through thick and thin together. Melissa, the host of The Singing Bee, and the Grammy Award-winning Reba have seen each other through marriages, pregnancies, and raising families. “I’ve seen her being married [to ex-husbands Narvel Blackstock and Charlie Battles], and she’s seen me when I was pregnant on the show,” Melissa shares. “We’ve known each other’s kids, and we’ve been there for each other through every high and low.”
But nothing compares to the joy Melissa feels watching her dear friend navigate this new chapter of love with Rex Linn, 63. “To see her in this new phase of her life and watch her go through this process is such a delight for me,” Melissa adds. “As a girlfriend, I get to live vicariously through her, and it’s an absolute treat.”
Working Together: Chemistry That Sparkles
Beyond Reba’s new romance, Melissa also spills the beans on what it’s like working alongside her on the podcast. Since launching “Living and Learning” on Spotify in late September, Melissa says it’s been a blast discussing health, wellness, and everything else under the sun with her pal. “It’s really just two women who have been friends for years getting to talk to people we want to learn from,” Melissa explains. “And let me tell you, the chemistry between us is pure magic. We can read each other’s minds, and it’s such a joy.”
