Who is Dave Coulier's wife Melissa? | The US Sun

You know him as the lovable and quirky Uncle Joey on "Full House" and "Fuller House," but off-screen, Dave Coulier is a devoted family man. At the heart of his personal life is his incredible wife, Melissa Bring. She's been his rock through thick and thin, helping him navigate some of the toughest moments in his life. So, let's dive in and get to know the amazing woman who’s standing by Dave’s side. Keep reading to learn all about Melissa and their beautiful relationship.

How Dave Coulier Met His One and Only, Melissa Bring

Love can strike in the most unexpected places, and that's exactly what happened to Dave Coulier. Back in 2005, while on a trip to Montana with friends, he accidentally tripped over Melissa Bring, a talented photographer. Rather than brushing it off as an embarrassing moment, the two struck up a conversation and instantly connected. Who would have thought that such a small mishap could lead to a lifetime of happiness? The couple tied the knot in July 2014, choosing to celebrate their union in the very place they first met—Montana. This marked Dave's second marriage, following a previous union with Jayne Modean from 1990 to 1992. Clearly, the second time around was the charm for this funnyman.

Their wedding was a star-studded affair, with close friends and fellow "Full House" cast members in attendance. The late Bob Saget delivered heartfelt toasts, while John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, and Andrea Barber were there to celebrate the joyous occasion. Dave himself admitted that meeting Melissa completely transformed his perspective on marriage.

“When I first met her, I told her, ‘Look, I don’t think I’m marriage material,’” he confessed to People after the wedding. “But she never pressured me, and that made me want to propose even more. When you find someone who’s so understanding, you start thinking, ‘Why am I not marrying this person?’ It’s incredible when you can marry your best friend because there’s an amazing trust that comes with it.”

Building a Home and a Life Together

Fast forward six years, and the couple decided to take on a home renovation project, breathing new life into their house in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. In a November 2020 interview with Closer, Dave opened up about the experience of creating their dream home.

“My wife and I just moved into a home that we remodeled right when COVID hit,” he shared. “At first, it felt strange being locked in a house, but it turned out to be the perfect time to focus on our project. We were tearing down walls, ripping out carpeting, and doing all sorts of construction work. It was quite the adventure!”

As someone who knows how to keep things light, Dave revealed the secret to maintaining a strong bond with Melissa over the years.

  • “We laugh a lot. Life throws so many curveballs—friends getting married or divorced, babies being born, family members passing away—but through it all, we’ve learned to find the silver lining by laughing together,” he said. “It’s one of the things that keeps us grounded and connected.”

In September 2022, Dave gave an update on their next big project: building a house in Michigan. “My wife and I bought a piece of property, and we’re designing and building a house from scratch,” he said excitedly. “I even went to contractor school to learn more about the process. I’m both thrilled and a little nervous, but it’s going to be an amazing experience.”

But their relationship isn’t just about laughter and home renovations; it’s also about supporting each other through life’s challenges. In March 2022, Dave posted a candid photo on Instagram showing his bloodied face, accompanied by a heartfelt message about his sobriety journey. He credited Melissa for standing by him every step of the way.

“I made the decision to prioritize my well-being, my family, and the people I love,” he wrote. “The withdrawal process was tough, but with Melissa’s unwavering support and encouragement from friends who had already walked this path, I managed to overcome it. The transformation has been incredible. The world feels brighter, my heart feels more open, and I enjoy making people laugh even more than before. Thank you, Melissa, for being my rock. I love you.”

Melissa has been a constant source of strength for Dave. He described her role in his sobriety journey with deep gratitude.

“She’s been with me every step of the way. Even though we used to enjoy a glass of wine together every night, she decided to stop drinking altogether to honor where I’m at in my journey. That’s how much she supports me,” he explained. “She’s truly been my biggest cheerleader.”
