Let’s talk about Jodie Sweetin, a name that probably rings a bell for most of us. She's one of those rare individuals who truly grew up in front of our eyes. At just 5 years old, Jodie was cast as Stephanie Tanner, the middle sister on the beloved sitcom Full House. Fans got to witness her transformation from a precocious little girl into a stunning young woman. In a candid chat with Closer, the 40-year-old actress reflects on her unique journey. "I absolutely adore the way I grew up," she shares. "Sure, it was tough and stressful at times, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world."
Jodie didn’t just stop with Full House. She reprised her role as Stephanie on Fuller House, which aired on Netflix for five seasons from 2016 to 2020. And she’s not slowing down anytime soon. This fall, Jodie is set to star in not one, but two holiday romances. A Cozy Christmas Inn is scheduled to premiere on Hallmark on October 28, while Merry Swissmas will air on Lifetime on November 5. These films promise to bring the holiday cheer that fans have come to expect from her work.

When she’s not busy on set, Jodie leads a full life at home. She’s a newlywed, married to a supportive husband, and the proud mother of two teenage daughters, Zoie Herpin, 14, and Beatrix Sweetin-Coyle, 12. "What I cherish most about my home isn’t the house itself," Jodie explains, "it’s the people who fill it. I adore spending time with my kids and my husband. They’re the heart of my world."

Staying Close with the Full House Family
Now, let’s rewind to Full House. It’s known for having one of the happiest casts in TV history. Who do you still keep in touch with?
“The entire cast! We’re all connected through text messages regularly. Just today, I spoke with Lori Loughlin because I was doing a podcast with her daughter. Dave Coulier and I were texting last week. Andrea Barber and I have plans to catch a theater show together in a few weeks. And Candace Cameron Bure? I see her all the time. It’s truly amazing. We’re not just co-stars; we’re a real family.”
No Regrets About Her TV Childhood
So, do you have any regrets about growing up on the set of Full House?
“Absolutely not. My time on that show introduced me to some of the most incredible people in my life. I experienced things I never would have otherwise. I’m incredibly grateful for every moment, both the highs and the lows.”
Returning as Grown-Up Stephanie
What was it like stepping back into the role of Stephanie for Fuller House?
“It was such a blast being an adult this time around! No more school on set! [laughs] Seriously though, having so much more input was amazing. It felt great to be on the other side of things and really have a say in creating Stephanie’s character and the show itself. They truly valued our input, and that meant everything.”

Remembering Bob Saget
Many of us were heartbroken by the loss of Bob Saget. Can you share a special memory of him?
“Oh man, there are so many. One that stands out is from the final scene of the original Full House. It was just Bob and me. In the scene, I leave through the front door, then come back in and give him a hug, telling him something like, ‘You’re the best dad ever.’ That moment between us was incredibly special, and it’s one I’ll cherish forever.”
Congratulations on your recent wedding!
“Thank you so much. We kept it intimate and small, which was perfect. My daughters were thrilled. I’m truly happy and deeply in love.”
