The Fire Department's Swift Response
When the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arrived on the scene at 5:42 p.m., the situation was dire. According to a news alert released by the LAFD, it took a team of 78 firefighters an intense 51 minutes to extinguish the flames that had engulfed a portion of the two-story concrete industrial building. "Two individuals were treated for respiratory issues related to smoke exposure but declined transport to the hospital. Tragically, one person was found deceased inside the structure during the search operation," the LAFD reported.
"Our firefighters faced an incredibly challenging situation," Los Angeles fire captain Erik Scott told the Los Angeles Times. Despite the harrowing conditions, the LAFD confirmed that no firefighters were injured during the operation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, leaving many questions unanswered for now.
