Why Did Hilary Farr Decide to Leave?
Hilary Farr’s decision to step away from the show after an incredible 19 seasons wasn’t an easy one. In an interview with People, she explained her reasons. “I’ve given it so many years of my life,” Hilary said. “It’s got me through hard times. It’s got the audiences through hard times. It has evolved into a mainstay of people’s lives and it’s been incredibly gratifying. But now it’s time for me to move on and meet new challenges.”
She elaborated further in a conversation with Vulture, saying, “It was becoming boring, and I don’t want to be bored.” Hilary also mentioned her focus on her other show, Tough Love with Hilary Farr. “There was no competitiveness in it, there was no aggression or contentiousness, which is part of the formula of Love It or List It because it is a competition, ultimately,” she explained. “That kind of show doesn’t always bring the best out in people, just by virtue of what it is.”
