Alright, friends, let me tell you, CBS is making some big moves when it comes to its TV lineup. It's like they're reshuffling the deck, and unfortunately, some of our favorite shows are getting the boot. Let's dive into what's happening and why these cancellations might have fans scratching their heads.
What Shows Are CBS Scrapping for the 2025-2026 Season?
Let’s start with a real heavy hitter—Blue Bloods. Back in December 2024, the show aired its final episode after CBS decided to pull the plug. For those of us who’ve been tuning in for years, this was a tough pill to swallow. The show’s stars, including the legendary Tom Selleck, weren’t exactly thrilled about the decision.
Tom opened up to Entertainment Weekly in December 2024, saying, “My biggest goal is to make sure people realize we went out in rather spectacular success. It wasn’t tired, it wasn’t anything else.” He went on to admit, “Somebody may be able to tell me someday why CBS wanted to end it, but I haven’t had a good answer yet.” Tom, we feel you. It’s not easy saying goodbye to something so successful.

But here’s the thing—Blue Bloods wasn’t the only one getting the axe. CBS also decided to cancel two spinoffs from the FBI franchise: FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International. Both of these shows had been running strong, with FBI: Most Wanted lasting six seasons and FBI: International surviving for four. Fans of these shows are definitely feeling the sting.
When the news broke, several cast members and showrunners spoke out. Keisha Castle-Hughes, who starred in FBI: Most Wanted, shared her thoughts, saying, “Thanks to Wolf Films and CBS, David Hudgins and Ken Girotti, for supporting an incredible run of the show. I will treasure the memories and the friendships built over my time on the series and the years spent.”

Keisha added, “It’s bittersweet, but we are invigorated and determined to close out season 6 with hard work and love. And give you the best season yet! This is for you!”
From FBI: International, Eva-Jane Willis also chimed in, saying, “Of course I’m sad the show must come to an end, but I want to thank Wolf Entertainment and CBS for everything: in particular the incredible tour of Europe! We have memories to last us a lifetime!”
S.W.A.T. Canceled for the Third Time
On March 7, 2025, S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moore confirmed that the show has been canceled after season 8. Now, here’s the twist—this isn’t the first time the show has been canceled. In fact, it’s been canceled and uncanceled twice before. That’s right, folks, it’s a bit of a rollercoaster ride.
Shemar said in a video, “Uncanceled, canceled, uncanceled twice, two years in a row. Now I don’t know my history, but how many shows get to say that? I’m going to say none or I’m going to say that we’re close to one of the none. But we did that and we are so proud.”

Shemar hinted he wasn’t giving up just yet, expressing hope that another network might pick the show up. He said, “Hey, Netflix, how you doing? Let me just remind you that in a very short period of time, once upon a time ago, not too long ago, it only took us about two weeks to go from No. 15, No. 12, to No. 1. And then we stayed in your top 10, top 15 for about six months, nine months, maybe a year.”
