Hey there, let’s talk about one of the most memorable clients from Fixer Upper: David Ridley. Fans of Chip and Joanna Gaines won’t soon forget this handsome model who caught everyone's attention as "Waco’s Most Eligible Bachelor." In one of the series' standout episodes, the Gaines duo helped David transform a 1969 ranch house into his dream lakefront home. So, what's been happening with David since the cameras stopped rolling? Let’s dive in and find out!
David Ridley's Big Moment on 'Fixer Upper'
Back in February 2016, David made history on Fixer Upper as the first single man to have his home renovated on the show. Before moving back to Waco, Texas, David had carved out a successful career as a model in New York City. But when he set eyes on a charming Lake Waco property, he knew it was time to come home. The house, built in 1969, had a lot of potential but definitely needed a makeover. With a budget of $272,000, David was ready to turn it into the perfect space for hosting friends and family.
Chip and his team went all out to make the house a true showstopper. Walls were knocked down to create an open-concept kitchen, complete with two stunning kitchen islands featuring rustic concrete countertops. The pièce de résistance? A custom dining room table crafted by the talented Clint Harp, paired with wooden chairs that added warmth and character to the space. It was a bachelor pad that truly reflected David's personality and style.

But the surprises didn’t stop there. During the big reveal, Chip and Joanna pulled out all the stops by adding outdoor volleyball and basketball courts to the backyard. As a sports enthusiast, David was absolutely thrilled with the unique touches that transformed the house into a true entertainer’s paradise.
Joanna later reflected on the project, saying, “David Ridley’s house was definitely one of the most unique and masculine-style homes we’ve done in season 3. It truly became the ultimate bachelor pad. David loved it, and we hope he continues to cherish it for years to come.”
After the episode aired, David found himself in the spotlight. He told Country Living in September 2016, “I don’t go anywhere without people saying something. Whether it’s at the airport or out to eat in Waco, I get recognized everywhere. But people have been super nice about it. I’ve had to be really careful on social media—I gained about 8,000 followers overnight! I’ve even had moms and grandmas calling my office, trying to set me up with their daughters and granddaughters!”
Where Is David Ridley Now?
Fast forward a few years, and David is no longer flying solo. Shortly after his time on Fixer Upper, he met Rachel Rich, an Alabama-based teacher, through a mutual friend. Love blossomed quickly, and the couple tied the knot in July 2017. Since then, they’ve welcomed two beautiful daughters, Ayla and Georgia, into their lives. It’s safe to say David has traded in his bachelor lifestyle for a life full of love and family.

These days, David is keeping busy as a realtor and running his own company, Waco Tours. In August 2022, he gave his Instagram followers a peek into his life, more than six years after his big Fixer Upper moment aired. He shared a video from his famous property, reminiscing about the good times. “I lived here with all my single buddies, then got married, and my wife and I lived here for a little while. Eventually, we moved to Alabama,” he explained. “Yes, we still own the house, and it’s perfect for family get-togethers and hangouts. We love coming back here to spend time with our family whenever we’re in Texas.”
