Here’s the deal: Roger Federer, the tennis legend who’s captured the hearts of millions, is not just a champ on the court but also a rockstar dad. The 2023 Met Gala co-chair and his wife, Mirka Federer, have built a life filled with love and laughter. And guess what? They’ve got two sets of twins! Scroll down to dive deeper into the story of Roger and Mirka’s four amazing children.

How Roger Federer and Mirka Fell in Love

Let me tell you, Roger and Mirka’s love story is one for the ages. Like Roger, Mirka was once a professional tennis player. They first crossed paths at the 2000 Summer Olympics while proudly representing Switzerland. Fast forward a bit, and they were dating. Their relationship blossomed, and in 2009, they tied the knot in Basel, Switzerland, surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was a day filled with joy and love.

Roger shared his excitement on his blog back then: “Earlier today, in my hometown of Basel, surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, Mirka and I got married. It was a beautiful spring day and an incredibly joyous occasion.” You can feel the happiness in those words, can’t you?

Mirka had to retire from tennis shortly after meeting Roger due to a foot injury. But that didn’t stop her from being his biggest cheerleader throughout his career. And when Roger announced his retirement in September 2022, he shared some heartfelt words: “I am 41 years old. I have played more than 1,500 matches over 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than I ever would have dreamt, and now I must recognize when it is time to end my competitive career.”

In July 2009, Roger and Mirka became parents to twin daughters, Charlene and Myla. It was a life-changing moment for them. “This is the greatest day of our lives,” Roger said at the time. “Mirka, Myla, and Charlene are all healthy and doing very well.”

Just a few months after Charlene and Myla’s arrival, Roger opened up about the joys of fatherhood. “It’s been a lot of fun being a father and spending time with them,” he told People in September 2009. “I’m hands-on as much as I can because every day is something new and something different. I don’t want to miss anything.”

In May 2014, the family grew even bigger with the arrival of their twin sons, Lenny and Leo. Roger reflected on how his life and career shifted after becoming a father of four. “The girls were born, and from that moment on, in 2010 and 2011, I didn’t win any slams,” he recalled during a September 2022 interview on Today. “I remember changing diapers, bathing the girls, and just being a dad.”

He went on to say, “But when the boys were born, it really shook things up. Traveling with four kids every week was tough, to say the least. And from being the guy who dominated, I became the challenger. I liked that role, too. It actually kept me hungry throughout.”
