Battle on the Beach is back for another thrilling season, and this time, it’s packed with some of the most talented design pros in the biz. Among them is Ben Argall, who joined forces with his buddy Pete Meldrum to become a fan favorite on HGTV. If you’re wondering more about Ben—what he does when he’s not competing, his life off-screen, or how he got here—just keep scrolling. Let’s dive in!
Meet Ben Argall: The Man Behind the Designs
Ben Argall and Pete Meldrum are more than just teammates; they’re lifelong pals who decided to take on the challenge of Battle on the Beach. Together, they teamed up with Alison Victoria, the brilliant mind behind Windy City Rehab, to get her expert guidance. The stakes were high: they had six weeks and a budget of $90,000 to renovate a beach house in Gulf Shores, Alabama, all in hopes of winning a $50,000 prize. That’s a lot to accomplish in such a short time, but Ben and Pete weren’t ones to shy away from a challenge.

The competition was fierce, with Ashley and Steve getting mentorship from the legendary Ty Pennington, and Kelsey and Ryan under the wing of Taniya Nayak. But Ben and Pete brought something special to the table—years of experience in design and renovation. When asked about his experience working with Ben, Pete had nothing but praise.

“This experience was truly one of a kind,” Pete said in an interview with Upper Michigan’s Source in May 2023. “Working with Ben was a blast. It was a ton of work, and I thought it would be easier than our everyday jobs, but it turned out to be even harder. The timeline was insane, but it was so much fun. I also got to meet some incredible people along the way.”
Ben Argall’s Career: Real Estate Broker Extraordinaire
When he’s not flipping houses for TV, Ben Argall is a real estate broker running his own company, Argall Real Estate Group, based in Ishpeming, Michigan. He’s been a local fixture, having grown up in the western part of Marquette County. In August 2022, Ben announced on Instagram that he purchased a historic building to renovate it into the company’s new headquarters. Talk about dedication to his craft!
Ben, a proud Northern Michigan University graduate, has a knack for flipping houses, which he often showcases on his Instagram page. He currently resides in a home built by his great-grandfather back in 1937—a place steeped in history and personal significance. It’s no wonder that Ben’s love for real estate and design feels like destiny.
For Ben, his journey into real estate wasn’t just about finding a job—it was about discovering his passion. “You can’t figure out what you love just by sitting around and thinking about it,” Ben reflected on Instagram in April 2023. “You’ve got to dive in and try things. Starting as an assistant to a realtor taught me so much. Now, combining my artistic side, my knowledge of real estate, and my deep connection to the local history has been an incredible journey. Standing in a gutted building and imagining its future makes me smile every time. I can’t wait to see what’s next!”
