For Home Town fans, Ben Napier’s weight loss story is nothing short of inspiring. The 40-year-old craftsman decided to take control of his health for the most important reason of all—his family. "We’re all trying to be healthier, live better, and live longer," Ben told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview. He explained that his journey began with a simple realization: he needed to shed some extra pounds. But it wasn’t until an awkward moment during an interview—when his shirt wouldn’t stay buttoned—that he truly felt the urgency to commit fully to his transformation.
From Shoulder Surgery to a Healthier Ben
Ben’s health journey took a serious turn in March when he underwent shoulder surgery. It was then that his doctors suggested he start blood pressure medication—before he even hit 40. "I thought, 'I'm too young for this,'" Ben admitted. Instead of accepting the prescription, he decided to try losing weight first. Fast forward to today, and the results are remarkable. "His blood pressure is perfect," his wife Erin Napier proudly shared. She even joked, "It is the sexiest thing." Who could argue with that?
The Diet That Changed Everything
So, how did Ben lose a whopping 95 pounds? It all came down to a simple yet effective plan: switching up his diet and sticking to regular workouts. Erin, who’s always been health-conscious, became Ben’s biggest cheerleader. "I like to eat what I call 'girl dinner,' which is basically crackers, cheese, charcuterie, and maybe a crunchy carrot," she explained. "Ben just adopted the way I eat. He has one big meal a day—a good, healthy lunch—and that’s it." Erin added with a laugh, "Last night, he even ate some dates. He’s obsessed with them!"

Erin’s Support and Love
Erin is over the moon about her husband’s achievements. As the author of Heirloom Rooms, she knows the importance of creating lasting memories with loved ones. "I want Ben to be around for our daughters, Helen and Mae," she said. For Ben, watching his daughters grow up is a top priority. "Helen is in kindergarten now, and we’re reading together. It’s been the most amazing experience," he shared. The joy in his voice was unmistakable.

In August 2022, Ben touched the hearts of many when he shared a heartfelt moment on Instagram. He documented the first day of school for his eldest daughter, Helen. "Helen requested bacon, bagels, and croissants for her first day of school," Ben wrote alongside a set of adorable photos. "So, I got her bagels and croissants from NYC and bacon from Keens. Then I cried more than anyone taking her to school." Erin also celebrated the milestone, sharing her own post. "She took one of Ben’s hankies and sprayed my perfume on it in case she needed us," Erin wrote. "Old Bear held her hand when we had to let go of it. Being a parent is hard, awful, bliss." Their love for their children truly shines through in every word.
