Savannah’s comment referenced a previous appearance by Erin in October 2023 when she joined Al Roker during a weather forecast. During that segment, Erin revealed to Seth Meyers that if she hadn’t pursued sports reporting, she might have become a meteorologist. With a playful wink, she declared, “Al Roker’s my boyfriend,” after helping out with the weather.
Fast forward a few months, and Erin returned to the Today show, just as enthusiastic as ever. As she spotted Al on Thursday’s episode, she couldn’t resist singing the same tune of happiness. “Al, how was your wife about me calling you my boyfriend?” Erin playfully asked Al about his wife, Deborah Roberts. Al, always the gentleman, replied, “She’s OK.”

After giving Al a warm hug, Erin wished him a “Happy Opening Day” for baseball season. They then dove into a discussion about how Major League Baseball had postponed several games due to inclement weather. It was clear that Erin had been waiting for this moment.

“You know what’s gray is going to be my Easter Sunday in Los Angeles. I think we’re supposed to get some rain, but let’s not give people bad news, right?” Erin said, adding a touch of humor to her forecast. As the segment wrapped up, Erin asked Al, “How you been doing?” Al replied, “I been doing great.” She followed up with, “Did you miss me?” Al quipped, “I missed you so much.”

Although Easter Sunday might be a rainy one for Erin, she has plenty to be thankful for this year. The Dancing With the Stars alum welcomed her first child, son Mack Roger Stoll, with husband Jarret Stoll via surrogate in June 2023. The family is eagerly planning Mack’s first birthday party.
“We have a couple of ideas,” Erin told People in an interview published on Wednesday, March 27. “We call him macaroni for short or roni. So, we were thinking something with either macaroni and cheese … and cheese and wine for his mother, of course. And then maybe something with Mack trucks, that’d be really cute. We’re tossing ideas around.”
