"James was two when I got clean and sober," Colin recalls, reflecting on the moment that turned his life around. "He was a big part of me putting the bottle down. I was in no condition to be a friend, let alone a father to a child with such specific and demanding needs." The list included 20 hits of ecstasy, four grams of cocaine, six grams of speed, half an ounce of hash, three bottles of Jack Daniel’s whiskey, 12 bottles of red wine, 60 pints of beer, and smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. It was a wake-up call that he couldn't ignore.

Having James with his ex-wife Kim Bordenave made Colin realize that sobriety wasn't just about him—it was about being the best father he could be. "If it wasn't for my sobriety, I wouldn't be able to be there for James and enjoy the marvels of his life and support him," Colin explains. His journey to sobriety has been challenging at times, but he acknowledges that it has made his life richer and more meaningful.
