On the most recent episode of The View, chaos reigned supreme as Whoopi Goldberg found herself in a whirlwind of excitement—and a bit of a predicament. The beloved EGOT winner ended up losing her ring during an electrifying segment that featured some very famous Disney friends making a surprise appearance.
Whoopi Steps into the Wind Booth for a Magical Giveaway
In a segment designed to bring joy and excitement to the audience, the hosts of The View announced that one lucky viewer would win an incredible cruise vacation aboard the Disney Destiny. To spice things up, Whoopi, at the spry age of 68, decided to take the challenge head-on by locking herself inside a wind machine. The goal? To pluck a slip of paper with the chosen audience member’s seat number from a flurry of flying notes.
Before stepping into the wind booth, Whoopi couldn't contain her excitement. “Before I get in the wind booth, we have some special friends here today who wanted to help us celebrate,” she exclaimed, setting the stage for what was about to unfold. As if on cue, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse made a grand entrance, adding a touch of Disney magic to the already lively atmosphere.

Mickey and Minnie Make a Surprise Appearance
“Looking good, love the shoes, girl! Love those shoes!” Whoopi playfully quipped to Minnie Mouse, whose stylish outfit was a perfect fit for the occasion. With Mickey ears perched jauntily atop her head, Whoopi stepped into the wind booth, ready to take on the challenge. As the machine roared to life, papers swirled around her, creating a storm of excitement as she attempted to grab the lucky slip.
Once the machine came to a halt, Whoopi emerged with a look of pure shock on her face. “My ring is in there,” she announced, realizing that her gold ring was missing from her finger. Despite the unexpected turn of events, a representative for The View reassured everyone, telling Entertainment Weekly, “The ring is safe and back where it belongs.”
Whoopi's Wind Booth Adventures: A Year-Long Tradition
This wasn’t the first time Whoopi had taken the plunge into a wind machine on The View. Last year, the star of Sister Act found herself in a similar situation when the show gave away a trip on the Disney Treasure cruise ship. Minnie Mouse was once again on hand, this time dressed to impress, to help make an audience member's dream come true.
“We have a friend here today who wanted to help us celebrate. Come on out, Captain Minnie Mouse!” Sara Haines enthusiastically announced, adding to the festive atmosphere.

With Minnie’s help, Whoopi entered the booth, and as the wind kicked up, papers danced wildly around her face. She could be heard shouting something amid the chaos as Minnie joyfully danced outside the booth. Once she pulled the lucky number and was released, Whoopi held her hand over her chest, visibly surprised by the outcome.
Whoopi's Hilarious Moments on The View
Whoopi has a knack for keeping the audience entertained with her antics on The View. Who could forget the time in July 2023 when she hilariously flubbed her words during a segment about travel destinations? “A poll of 2,000 adults in the U.K. found that when people travel, cuisine is more important to them than landmarks or bitches,” she said, quickly correcting herself by adding, “Beaches!”

This small mishap sent the entire audience and her cohosts into fits of laughter. Whoopi playfully blamed the show's crew, saying, “I’m sorry. It says beaches. This is y’all’s fault, and I can’t even tell you why it’s their fault.” Her costar Ana Navarro kept the laughter rolling with her witty response, “Honey, I will travel anywhere for a good bitch.” Whoopi simply replied, “Thanks.”
