News, revealing the unique dynamic she shares with her husband, Dax Shepard. “I married my polar opposite,” she admitted, laughing. “We’re the antithesis of each other. It’s like we argue about everything under the sun—from what’s for dinner to which movie to watch—but here’s the thing: we’ve built this incredible foundation of trust. That trust keeps us together and makes our relationship stronger. Even when we disagree, we respect each other’s opinions, and that’s what keeps the spark alive.”
Kristen and Dax, the host of the wildly popular “Armchair Expert” podcast, have been a team since 2013. They’ve built a beautiful life together, raising two daughters, Lincoln and Delta. Right now, Kristen is all geared up for the premiere of her latest project, Nobody Wants This, a heartwarming story where an agnostic woman, played by Kristen, falls in love with a rabbi, portrayed by Adam Brody. “I can totally relate to the idea of being attracted to someone who, on paper, seems like the exact opposite of what you’d want,” Kristen reflected. “But sometimes, that’s where the magic happens. You grow, you learn, and you become a better version of yourself.”
Benefits of Being Different: How Kristen and Dax Thrive Together
While some might be shocked by Kristen’s admission about their frequent disagreements, she sees it as a positive. “Being with someone who’s so different from you forces you to grow,” she explained. “It challenges you to step outside your comfort zone and see things from a different perspective. And honestly? That’s what keeps things exciting.”
But Kristen’s honesty didn’t stop there. She also shared a bombshell revelation about a recent family vacation. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she revealed that she and Dax let their kids roam free at an amusement park in Denmark for seven hours. It was a bold move, but one that paid off.
“The hotel we stayed at opened right into the theme park, so we thought, why not give free-range parenting a shot?” Kristen recalled, laughing. “Our kids woke up at six every morning, scanned their bracelets, and headed out. We didn’t see them for seven hours. They were just running around Copenhagen, having the time of their lives.”
Kristen admitted that she and Dax relished the kid-free time during their trip. “It was heaven,” she shared with a grin. “We had coffee, played cards, and just enjoyed each other’s company. Then around three in the afternoon, we’d start wondering, ‘Where are the kids?’ and eventually, they’d come running back, usually needing a Band-Aid or something.”
“Thankfully, they both survived the adventure,” Kristen added with a laugh. “All our kids returned home safely, and it was an experience they’ll never forget.”

Traveling the World: Teaching Kids Through Experience
Kristen and Dax are big believers in teaching their kids about the world through firsthand experiences. “We try to take the kids somewhere new every summer,” Kristen explained. “We pick a place on the map, somewhere we don’t know the language, the smells, or the food. It’s all about immersing ourselves in different cultures and learning how other people live. It’s a great way to broaden their horizons and break down any preconceived notions they might have.”
