Hey there, friends. Let’s catch up on Kathie Lee Gifford, the vibrant and inspiring TV personality who’s been through quite the journey lately. After a hospital stay for a fractured pelvis, she’s back home and sharing her heartwarming health update with all of us.

A Heartfelt Return Home

At 71 years young, Kathie Lee is nothing short of a powerhouse. She recently posted a touching message on social media, saying, “Beyond happy to be home with my precious little guys.” If you’ve seen her grandkids, you’ll know exactly why she’s glowing. Kathie Lee shared this alongside a sweet photo with one of her grandsons, taken on Friday, September 27. She’s feeling so grateful for the prayers and support from her fans during her hospital stay. In her own words, she’s “running around like a teenager,” healed by the grace of God and the prayers of faithful friends. It’s a beautiful reminder of the power of community and faith.

Family Life: The Next Generation

For those of you who don’t know, Kathie Lee is a proud grandmother to three delightful grandchildren—Frankie and Ford, born to her son Cody Gifford and his wife Erika, and little Finn, who’s the son of her daughter Cassidy Gifford and her husband Ben Wierda. These little ones must be filling her home with so much love and laughter.

Kathie Lee first opened up about her health in July when she revealed she’d undergone hip replacement surgery. Now, this is no small feat, but Kathie Lee faced it with her trademark courage. During a July 17 appearance on Today, she shared her doctor’s reaction after the surgery. He told her, “Kathie, how have you been existing all this time? [You had] some of the worst hips I’ve ever seen.” Can you imagine? She’s been powering through life with hips that were practically screaming for help.

But as we all know, recovery isn’t always a walk in the park. Kathie Lee admitted that it wasn’t as “easy” as she’d hoped. “I walked, I climbed, I walked,” she told People in an interview published on July 16. Her doctor had to remind her, “Kathie, no. You have got to realize that this is serious.” Despite this, Kathie Lee was off her walker in two days and medication-free in three. But her determination to get back on her feet led her to overdo it. “I just did too much because that’s who I am,” she confessed. Sound familiar? Sometimes, we’re our own worst enemies when it comes to recovery.

Back to the Hospital: A Tough Setback

A few weeks after her hip surgery, Kathie Lee faced another hurdle. She was hospitalized again after taking a fall at home, fracturing her pelvis in two places. Life can be unpredictable, right? She was busy signing copies of her latest book, Herod and Mary: The True Story of the Tyrant King and the Mother of the Risen Savior, and moving stacks of books by herself at signings. This weakened her body, making her more vulnerable to injury.

Back at her Nashville home, Kathie Lee went to answer the door to let a friend in, but instead, she took a tumble, leading to her hospitalization. “It didn’t take much, because I was weak in that spot,” she explained. “And the next thing you know, I am back in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, the front and the back. That’s more painful than anything I went through with the hip. The pelvis is unbelievably painful. But anyway, here I am.”

Hope and Healing: A Message for Us All

On August 13, Kathie Lee joined Today to share another update on her recovery. She revealed that her pain had subsided, and she couldn’t help but give credit where it’s due. “I have been in no pain now and when that happens to you, you have to give credit and glory … credit to all the prayers, and when I think about the people that have reached out to me and said, ‘Kathie, have a speedy recovery, we’re praying for a speedy recovery,’ that’s about as speedy as you get!” she said.

She added a powerful message for all of us: “So, if people are out there looking for hope, waiting for their miracles, keep waiting guys, God hears your prayers and he knows what you’re going through. I’m deeply grateful and I’m still praying for all the friends and loved ones in my life that have not received their healing yet.” Words like these remind us to keep the faith and support one another through life’s challenges.
