Gathering of Loved Ones at Her New Home

    A New Chapter for Hoda

Thanksgiving also marked the beginning of a new chapter in Hoda’s life. This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was her last as a member of the Today team. She will be stepping away from the show in January 2025, but she’ll remain an important part of the NBC family. While this change may bring mixed emotions, Hoda is embracing it wholeheartedly, especially because it means more time with her daughters.

When asked about her plans after leaving Today, Hoda shared her excitement for the simple pleasures in life. “I’ve found out, in my town, there’s a 5:30 Soul Cycle class which I’m going to start,” she told E! News on October 25. “Then I’m going to go back and feed my kids breakfast and I am going to make a coffee to go in my Yeti.”

Hoda’s vision for her future is centered around creating meaningful experiences with her daughters. “I’m going to walk my kids down the beautiful streets to their school and I’m going to kiss them goodbye,” she added. The possibilities for Hoda and her family in their new home seem endless, and she’s eager to make countless sweet memories together.

“I’m going to take them to wherever they want to go,” Hoda explained. “I’m going to bring them home later. I’m going to fire up the BBQ. I don’t care what the temperature is, I love everything barbecued. I’m going to make burgers and salmon.”

Hoda and her daughters previously lived in a New York City apartment, which was conveniently close to the Today studio. However, as her life evolved, she realized it was time for a change. She wanted her daughters to experience a quieter, more peaceful environment where they could grow and thrive.

“I feel like I’m in this repotting phase of my life,” Hoda said during an August 12 episode of her “Making Space” podcast. “I just feel it. I feel like my roots need a bigger pot, in all kinds of things. I’m physically moving with my kids, which was a big deal for us, because it’s easy not to move because of friends and this and that.”

She took the concept of “repotting” and used it to explain the move to her children. “When I found this spot that I liked, a little town that had all the things that could teach my kids independence, I told my kids, ‘We’re repotting.’ They’re like, ‘What? We’re moving?’ I go, ‘Yeah, but we’re repotting,’” she explained with a smile.
