Not everyone’s thrilled about the reboot, though. Connie Britton, who played Tami Taylor, voiced her confusion about the idea of reviving the series. “I heard they’re making another Friday Night Lights, which I find bizarre,” she said on the Emmy Awards red carpet in September 2024. The book was later adapted into a 2004 movie starring Billy Bob Thornton, Tim McGraw, and Garrett Hedlund, with Connie Britton making her debut as Loretta Holland before stepping into the role of Tami Taylor in the TV series.
Since the original Friday Night Lights wrapped in 2011, the cast has gone on to do some pretty incredible things. Kyle Chandler, for example, is set to star as Hal Jordan in HBO’s upcoming Lanterns series. And let’s not forget Michael B. Jordan, who skyrocketed to fame after playing Vince Howard. What About Taylor Kitsch?
