Here’s some exciting news for all you Donny Osmond fans out there! The legendary entertainer has just landed himself a new gig—this time as a guest judge on the U.K. version of The Masked Singer. At 62 years old, Donny continues to prove that he’s as relevant and charismatic as ever.
On the evening of January 10, Donny took to Instagram to break the news himself, sharing a post that oozed enthusiasm. “The rumors are true! I’m thrilled to be a guest judge on the very first season of @MaskedSingerUK,” he wrote, clearly pumped about the opportunity. But Donny didn’t stop there. He added a little humor to his announcement, saying, “After being the first #MaskedSinger contestant in the U.S., I’ll admit I might be a bit tougher on the performers than Ken Jeong. Unlike Ken, I won’t shout ‘I know exactly who it is!’ unless I’m absolutely certain. 😜😂”
Donny’s Fans Are Over the Moon
As expected, Donny’s announcement didn’t go unnoticed. Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support and excitement. “Congratulations, Donny!! Can’t wait to see you back on TV!!” one fan wrote, while another chimed in with, “This is such an awesome opportunity for you!” It’s clear that Donny’s charm and talent continue to resonate with his audience. For his two-week stint on the show, Donny will be tasked with guessing the identity of the masked performers, bringing his unique perspective and experience to the table.

View this post on InstagramI have the greatest fans in the world. Interacting with and meeting each of you is a great privilege. Your kindness and generosity inspire me, and I wish I could personally thank you for every gift I receive. 🙏🏼 Today I want to share a picture of a gift I recently received along with a thoughtful letter from two sisters. Here are a few lines of that letter: “A few weeks ago Julia and I went on a road trip and discovered an old refurbished barn which sold various wares. We immediately saw this peacock and thought of you Donny! Our family has so enjoyed watching you on @maskedsingerfox and knew in our hearts you would love this. Thank you so much for all you have shared with the world. We hope this peacock will help bring back those wonderful times you had as the Masked #Peacock.” Thank you for the thoughtful gift, Julia and Hazelann. It’s a perfect touch to my dressing room at @flamingovegas. 😊
Donny’s Reputation as a Tough Critic
When the news leaked on the U.K. show The Morning, fellow judge Davina McCall couldn’t help but share her thoughts. “Donny Osmond came on the panel as a guest when Ken Jeong wasn’t available for two weeks,” she revealed. “Let me tell you, Donny was a bit tougher than Ken. He really put those contestants through their paces. I thought, ‘Wow, Donny, you’re bringing it!’” It seems Donny isn’t afraid to dish out some constructive criticism, which is sure to make things interesting for the masked performers.
Donny’s History with The Masked Singer
Of course, Donny isn’t new to the world of The Masked Singer. He famously competed in the U.S. version of the show during its first season, where he donned the iconic Peacock costume. Despite his impressive performances, Donny came in second place, losing out to T-Pain. But even with the show’s strict confidentiality rules, Donny had to let someone in on his secret—his sister, Marie Osmond. “I was performing in Las Vegas every night while doing The Masked Singer,” Donny explained during an appearance on The Talk. “There were a few times I almost missed the Vegas show, so I had to tell Marie what was going on. I said, ‘You can’t breathe a word of this.’”

Donny and Marie’s Las Vegas residency wrapped up in November 2019 after an impressive 11-year run. Now, Donny is ready to bring his talents to the U.K., where he’ll kick off his judging duties on Saturday, January 26, at 7 p.m. GMT. Fans are eagerly anticipating what he’ll bring to the table, and we can’t wait to see it unfold!
