Marie Osmond Shares How She's Staying Positive During Quarantine

Life has thrown us all a curveball, but some people are finding ways to make the most of it. Marie Osmond, the iconic star of "Donny & Marie," is one of those people. Even with the world in the grip of the coronavirus pandemic, Marie is focusing on the bright side and sharing her story with fans. As states across the U.S. urge everyone to stay home, Marie and her husband, Steve Craig, have embraced this time together in a meaningful way.

Marie, who turned 60 last year, shared her thoughts in an Instagram post on March 22. She began by acknowledging that, like all of us, this is her first pandemic. “I’ve had a lot of firsts in my life, but this is definitely a new one for me,” she wrote. “The hardest part about any first is dealing with the unknown. When I first heard we all had to stay home, I thought, 'What? This feels like I'm being sent to my room!' But as time went on, I realized there’s so much more to this moment than just staying inside.”

A Look Into Marie’s Quarantine Life

Marie’s life changed dramatically when CBS stopped airing "The Talk" on March 14. That's when the reality of the situation truly hit home. After ensuring her daughter Jessica and other children were safe, Marie and Steve traveled back to their home in Utah. “Steve has diabetes, and my immune system isn’t the greatest, so we figured it was best to isolate ourselves,” she explained. “But you know what? At our tender ages of 29… okay, I’m kidding, but we decided it was time to take precautions.”

  • Despite the challenges, Marie found joy in spending quality time with her husband. “After raising kids for 36 years and growing up with a house full of brothers, I never thought I’d say this, but I’m actually enjoying being alone with Steve,” she confessed. “This has been such a blessing. After being apart for over 25 years, we’re finally getting to reconnect in a way we never have before.”

    Learning to Embrace Quiet Moments

Marie also discovered a surprising perk of quarantine—sleep. “I mean, really sleeping. It’s amazing!” she exclaimed. “After working nonstop for 57 years, I almost forgot how nice it is to take a nap. The house is so quiet now, and there’s no rush to meet deadlines or attend events. It’s refreshing to just slow down.”

She added with a chuckle, “And honestly, the quiet is kind of nice. No one running around, no noise—it’s peaceful. I’m learning to appreciate the stillness.”

Marie ended her post by offering words of encouragement to her followers. “I believe there’s so much we can learn from this time,” she wrote. “We have the chance to reset, to let go of anything that’s not serving us well. This is an opportunity to grow and become better versions of ourselves.”

She emphasized the importance of staying connected, even while physically apart. “Social distancing doesn’t mean we have to shut ourselves off. We’re still here for each other—we’re just doing it from a safe distance. Let’s keep checking in on our friends and family, sending uplifting messages, and supporting one another.”
