Hey there, Star Wars fans! As we gear up to celebrate “May the 4th Be With You,” let’s take a moment to reflect on one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history: Darth Vader. Now, hear me out—this guy isn’t just your run-of-the-mill baddie. He’s the guy who let Mace Windu die, wiped out innocent Jedi Younglings, cut off his own son's hand, killed his mentor, tortured his daughter, and pretty much checked out as a dad. So, who in their right mind would ever want to face him? Well, buckle up, because we’ve found four fearless characters who are ready to go toe-to-toe with the Dark Lord of the Sith. Just a heads-up: some strong language ahead.
When Batman Meets Darth Vader
Picture this: Batman, the Dark Knight himself, has a personal vendetta against Darth Vader. You see, Superman, his buddy, got captured and is being held hostage on the Death Star—de-powered by a red sunlamp, no less. Now, here’s the fun part: Superman’s weakness to red sun radiation raises an interesting question that probably no one has ever thought about—can a Kryptonian tan under a red sunlamp? Anyway, back to the story. Batman isn’t just going to sit around and do nothing when his pal’s in trouble. No way.
For years, Aaron Schoenke, along with his father Sean, has been blending his love for filmmaking with his passion for Batman. Together, they’ve created a series of critically acclaimed fan films under the banner of Bat in the Sun Productions. One of their coolest ideas? A web series called Super Power Beat Down, where two unlikely characters face off to see who wins. Some of their previous matchups include Marvel’s Punisher vs. DC’s Red Hood, Captain America vs. Master Chief, Wolverine vs. Predator, and Superman vs. Thor. But the most epic showdown? Batman vs. Darth Vader.

Aaron explains, “The idea for Batman vs. Darth Vader came from my dad and me. He grew up loving Star Wars, while I was all about Batman, so pitting them against each other felt like the perfect choice. A lot of people thought it wouldn’t work, but as storytellers, it’s our job to make it happen. Both Batman and Vader exist in incredible universes, which allowed for some really cool crossover elements. Plus, with Batman, anything is possible. He’s taken on everything from petty criminals to New Gods, so this fight was bound to be epic.”
Buzz Lightyear Challenges Darth Vader
Buzz Lightyear, the brave Space Ranger from Star Command, hails from the planet Morph (as seen in the Toy Story films). This guy is all business, armed with gadgets from his space suit and equipped with either a jetpack or his trusty space vessel. Now, here’s the kicker: Buzz’s sworn enemy is Emperor Zurg, who just happens to be the ruler of Morph. Since Vader serves the Emperor in the Star Wars universe, you can see why these two might clash. Let’s just say, the enemy of your enemy is... well, complicated.
The Clash of Darth Vader and Lord Voldemort
Both Darth Vader and Lord Voldemort started out as good guys before power corrupted them. Tom Riddle, the man who became the dreaded Voldemort, took a dark path to evil. On paper, it seems like these two should be besties, bonding over their plans to conquer the universe. But let’s be honest—neither of them is exactly the sharing type. They might have more in common than we think, but would they team up or duke it out? That’s the real question.
Ted Takes On Darth Vader
Ted, the foul-mouthed teddy bear brought to life by magic, isn’t exactly the type to back down from a fight. When his owner, John Bennett, made a wish, Ted came into existence—and ever since, he’s lived life on his own terms. So, when Darth Vader shows up with his lightsaber and Force tricks, do you really think Ted is going to back down? Not a chance. This bear doesn’t take orders from anyone, especially not some guy waving around a glowing sword.
So, as we say, “May the 4th Be With You,” let’s remember that even the most intimidating villains can face unexpected challengers. Who knows—maybe one day, someone else will step up to take on the Dark Lord of the Sith!
