James Brolin and Barbra Streisand are beyond excited about the arrival of their fourth grandchild! The legendary actor from Amityville Horror revealed that he and his iconic wife, Funny Girl star Barbra Streisand, were absolutely thrilled after learning about their son Josh Brolin and his wife Kathryn Boyd’s second pregnancy. In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, James shared the heartwarming details of this joyous family moment.
How They Got the News
James explained that Josh and Kathryn were very cautious about sharing the news early on. “First, they told us really early, and they said, ‘Don’t tell anybody,’” James recounted. “I think that’s because Kathryn wanted to have her sonograms back and be sure of everything. And then, when they found out it was another girl and they told us, we just were jumping up and down.”
Grandparent Bliss
After welcoming their first grandchild, Westlyn, who is now 21 months old, James and Barbra are overjoyed to be expanding their family once again. "You get another one like this one, there couldn’t be anything better!" James exclaimed. He added that Barbra, in particular, is absolutely smitten with their grandchildren, even though they aren’t biologically hers. “She’s just mush around them! She just turns to melted putty the minute... they talk on the phone. They send videos every other day of what the kid is doing. So we’re all very close.”

James' Journey to Grandparenthood
James, who has achieved numerous accolades throughout his illustrious career, says that his life has taken on a whole new meaning since his eldest son started having children. “Life has been really amazing,” he reflects. “It’s a different kind of joy that you get from being a grandparent.”
